I've been working on a podcast (coming Early 2018) with my friend and colleague Dr. Danielle Jenkins, PsyD (@diydoula ). She's a psychologist specializing in maternal mental health and did her dissertation on preventing postpartum depression.⠀

If you're an expecting mom, one of the biggest things she says you can do to set yourself up for success is building your support system. This quote definitely hits the nail on the head. In my postpartum journey, I think this was a huge factor and I bet you can relate too. Moving to a new state with no friends, family hours away, and a husband that worked 12-14 hours a day was really tough on me with a baby.⠀

Here's some ideas for finding support:⠀
*MOPS International⠀
*Church groups if you're spiritual⠀
*Find moms at the local park⠀
*Join a Buy Nothing group on FB⠀
*Find FB Groups specifically for postpartum depression/anxiety. Search Natural Postpartum Support in the FB search bar for my group.⠀

There's also support for postpartum depression online:⠀
*Postpartum Stress Center⠀
*Postpartum Support International⠀
*Perinatal Support⠀

Let me know in the comments, what were some ways you found support?
