On Day 13 of my Bliss More Meditation Challenge I’m sharing my meditation spot that used to be prime real estate for 📺 watching which has now become my hot spot for my daily morning meditations. For over 10 years it was the floor beneath this spot that I used to sit on, in lotus pose, unsupported on my hard meditation pillow. My back and hips used to ache while I fought epic battles with my endless thoughts...but I’d struggle on - always falling off the wagon over and over. This new spot has become a daily treat and kind of feels like I’m entering a delicious spa where my thoughts and my self are welcome. Who knew it could be so easy. #blissmore #blissmorechallenge
The last days I was so busy that I was unprepared for the mental part of #108sunsalutations yoga session with @thejourneyjunkie. I was struggeling to come up with goals and what I want to let go. But it is always amazing, how an intensive yoga session effects my body and mind. Yesterday I was busy and couldn't think about it afterwards. But this morning I woke up overflowing with thoughts and emotions. All "brain fog" is gone and I know what I want to do and what feels right. It's my day off and instead of doing laundry I am listening to #snatamkaur and journaling. Thank you, Allie @thejourneyjunkie for this great yogavideo. It was tough to get started cause 108 sunsalutations and almost 2 hours is really a lot, but you make it easy to follow and to keep it up when I got stuck. While the pic on the left plays better on Instagram, the pic on the right is how my personal meditation practice looks in real life. I’m never on the floor, I always have back support, my hands and legs are always at ease. Not saying this is the “only” way or “right” way to meditate. And what you can’t see is how I allow my mind to settle by keeping everything E.A.S.Y., which is 90% of what makes the practice yummy and restful. The other 10% is body position. There’s nothing arbitrary about meditation, from the way you sit to the times of day you do it, to why you have certain thoughts as opposed to other thoughts, to why you may fall asleep. Everything can be explained and I break all of this down in #blissmore, including the reason why the idea of a “monkey mind” is an illusion, and why meditation shouldn’t feel hard to do. And if it does feel challenging, you should understand why and be intentional about it, instead of thinking you can’t meditate with ease, which is simply not true.
Both pictures are examples of meditation - only in one I’m trying to sit like a pretzel (and my back started hurting after 5 minutes) and in the other I’m sitting comfy with my spine supported...Have a guess which one was the more enjoyable experience? I’m not a monk and I don’t endeavor to sit like one. Yesterday I meditated in bed, the day before that was on the sofa. There’s no set way you need to sit in order to meditate successfully, so get comfy and enjoy the ride (rather than trying not to focus on how much your back hurts). 🧘‍♀️🛋🛏

Day 12 of the Bliss More Meditation Challenge! Today I felt like my busy mind/fidgety body were the Autobahn and time like the slowest turtle. Not the most centering nor E.A.S.Y practice today - and me aiding it in being H.A.R.D - but I keep keepin’ on - and know that days like this are part of life.
