Lunchbox today is the basic that we all love❣️

➡️ For breakfast, it's spinach and methi mix thepla with ketchup. Thepla and it's numerous versions but this mix one is something that little A loves and I am happy that she is eating greens 💚

➡️ For lunch, it's matar ka pulao sprinkled with Desi ghee. This is one of my favourite dishes. It's simple yet so full of flavours.

➡️ Raw banana and spinach patties in star shaped toasties for breakfast! For the patties, I have used 1 raw banana (boiled, peeled & mashed), half a cup spinach (chopped and blanched), grated ginger garlic paste, chopped onion, cumin powder, green cardamom powder and basic spices. Heat a pan with 1 tablespoon of oil and shallow fry the patty. I used a star 🌟 shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread and  toast it with butter. Spread ketchup on the toast and put a patty in between the two toast slices! Yummy 😋

➡️ Orange 🍊 for fruit time. A dose of vitamin C for the little one.

➡️ For lunch, it's plain paratha with sprouted moth ki sabji. As a kid, we use to love this combination and I am so glad that little A loves desi food. In our native village in Rajasthan, the sprouted moth is sun-dried during summers so that you can use it the whole year long and is called birri. This one has been prepared by Little A's bhua dadi. I have used the same to make the sabji here. You can also prepare the same with fresh sprouts!
Heat oil in the pressure cooker. Add jeera and hing. Take a cup of water and add red chilli powder, turmeric (I am on a spree to use raw turmeric currently), dhaniya powder and salt. Make a paste and add it to the oil. Once it boils, add the soaked sprouts. Some garam masala and dry mango powder, 3 whistle and it's ready! Serve it with soft parathas.

💮 Red Pasta ~ I made pasta sauce with tomato, carrot and beetroot puree infused with garlic and herbs. Added to that, it has onion, olives and all three shades of capsicum. Multigrain bowtie pasta is cherry on the cake!
💮 Black gram sprouts ~ Lightly sauteed in #desighee and seasoned with asafoetida, salt and red chilli flakes. Dash of lemon juice on the top!
💮 Boiled egg ~ My son wanted a #mummy egg. He's still not out of halloween mode!

#lunchboxideasforkids ➡️ For breakfast, it's Sooji masala idli. This is my quick fix for idli and it turns out really well. Mix equal measure of Sooji and sour curd and keep is aside for 10 mins. Check the consistency, and add grated and chopped vegetables. I have added grated carrots only. Add crushed curry leaves, chilli powder, mustard seeds, grated ginger and raw turmeric. And steam it! Healthy and yummy. Serve it with ghee and podi.

➡️ For lunch, it's Rajma Masala wrap. For the filling, I sauteed onions, added boiled rajma, and then mashed it well. Along with the basic spices, I added some cumin powder and chopped coriander and capsicum. To assemble, spread ketchup on the paratha, add the filling and then fold the wrap properly. You can also add raw salad veggies for the crunch. .

💮 Methi Paratha ~ Those are mini flatbreads of whole-wheat flour, chopped #fenugreek, chopped green chillies, minced garlic and salt to taste. And ofcourse, it's been cooked slowly in good old #desighee ✌️
💮 Fresh #salad ~ Crispy lettuce, red onion, tomato and black grapes. On the side is vinaiggrette dressing with dash of black pepper
💮 Freshly squeezed orange-carrot juice ~ I also added half apple to it to mask any bitterness from orange and carrot

➡️ For breakfast, it's bread pulao with veggies. I have added onions, tomatoes, capsicum and peas along with lemon for the masala. Most of us have had this when we used to go to school! What memories 😍

➡️ Aam papad candy or Soft mango candy for the sweet touch. I got these from a local store in Bikaner and they are amazing.

➡️ Oats cheela with beetroot filling for lunch. The filling is grated potato and beetroot sauteed together with basic spices. Very filling and healthy.

The legendary 'SAAG'!
Ask any north indian about #saag and I bet 99% would be fan of it.
It's best had with crispy maize flour flatbread dunked in #desighee and an equal, if not more, of desighee drizzled on it! Yumm!!
Leftover saag is always used by me to make #paratha the next morning. These are so so soft and have a completely melt-in-your-mouth texture!
💮 Saag Paratha ~ Mini parathas made with dough of whole wheat flour, saag, chopped green chillies & salt to taste and cooked in desighee. I have sandwiched these with sweet mango & fennel chutney in between✌️

➡️ Til gur papdi for the sweet tooth. Infact, this is one of my favourite and with the onset of winters it's a must for the kids.

➡️ Mushroom and spinach masala wrap. I sauteed onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and added pureed spinach to it along with mixed herbs powder, salt and pepper. You can roll it or cut into halves, the choice is yours!

Little A wanted pasta and I wanted to make besan bread toast which for me is a low fat version of the bread pakora. So, decided to mix both for the lunch box today.

➡️ Breakfast today is the Besan bread toast along with the hung curd dip. It's a simple and tasty snack recipe. I made the batter by mixing besan flour, onions, carrom seeds, a dash of ginger, chopped coriander leaves, red chilli powder and salt with enough water to make a thick batter. Dip the bread and coat it evenly with the batter. Alongside, heat the pan, and then place the batter coated bread slices on the pan. The usage of oil is completely on you. I added about a tsp of oil and pan fried both the sides. I then cut the toast into squares so that it's easier for little A to eat!

➡️Dry fruits after a long time!

➡️ Pasta in red sauce with veggies for lunch. The delicious red tangy sauce with mix veggies is an easy idea to include tomatoes and bell peppers n your kids' diet.
