Meet our #PetoftheWeek Hooper! “I'm Hooper, I'm almost 11 yrs. old and I'm very, very sad because no one chose to adopt me at the Clear the Shelter event last weekend. I know my ears are deformed and I have missing fur on my pads, likely due to frost bite. I had to fend for myself for so long that I'm very timid and shy and easily frightened by loud noises and quick movements. I'm worried there is no one out there who will have the patience and kindness to take a chance on me. Once I feel safe and loved, I do enjoy affection...it just takes time! Ideally, a calm, quiet home without other pets or young children would be best. Any help you can give me in finding them would make my heart so happy. One Very Positive Things!! My Entire Adoption Fee has been DONATED in memory of Joann Weeks, a dear friend to Tails cats.” Hooper is available at @tailsdekalb ! Our Pet of the Week is brought to you by Paw Lickin Good

94.9 WDKB and First National Bank are proud to award our first Hometown Hero award to: The Sycamore Strong Committee!

The Sycamore Strong Committee consisted of Rose Treml from the Sycamore Chamber, Jesus Romero from Taxco, Dave Miller from Back Country Roads, and Joel Barczak from Blumen Gardens who all immediately lept into action to organize this community gathering to support the families affected by the St Alban’s Green Apartment Complex fire. With help from local businesses and organizations such as the Sycamore United Methodist Church Life Missions Group, the IDEAL INDUSTRIES Foundation, Upstaging, Radiant Dermatology, Hometown Realty Group, and many many more community members, the Sycamore Strong Gathering of Hope event came together in a matter of days and raised $69,095!

Nominate someone that you believe is helping to make DeKalb County a better place and they could be featured as our next Hometown Hero!

Meet our new #PetoftheWeek currently up for adoption at @tailsdekalb

Scout is a 10 month old Shepherd Mix with big brown eyes and fantabulous ears! He does very well with other dogs and big kids and loves running around and even taking a dip in the swimming pool! He's still a puppy with lots of energy and lots to learn, but he's already house-trained and would love to attend school.

Don't forget! Saturday August 17th is Clear the Shelter Day! Adoption Fees on ALL dogs and cats 6 months and older will be WAIVED!

Our Pet of the Week is brought to you by Paw Lickin Good.
