Cast announced for world premiere stage adaptation of @oneilllou’s ‘Asking for It’. The role of Emma O’Donovan will be played by Lauren Coe alongside Paul Mescal (as Bryan), Sean Doyle (as Sean), Amy McElhatton (as Maggie), Kwaku Fortune (as Eli), Venetia Bowe (as Jamie), Sile Maguire (as Ali) and Darragh Shannon (as Dylan). Cork Midsummer Festival is delighted to announce Doireann Ní Ghríofa as Artist-in-Residence for the 2018 Festival. The residency provides time and space for Doireann to develop her work, with specific focus on a number of projects that will be presented as part of the 2018 and 2019 Festivals. Full details of the 2018 projects, which are kindly supported by Cork City Council, will be announced at the programme launch in early May.

We are thrilled to announce that the world stage premiere of Louise O'Neill's award winning novel Asking For It will take place at Cork Midsummer Festival 2018! Landmark Productions and The Everyman Theatre will co-produce the production which is co-commissioned by The Abbey Theatre and announced today as one of the eleven projects supported by The Arts Council under its Open Call funding round.
