Important message for Maconaquah students and patrons tonight. We're thankful for administrators and law enforcement that respond swiftly and diligently to something like this.
@mac_farm_to_school experienced a huge milestone yesterday when the first beef from the program was served in school lunches. Great job, #Maconaquah Cattle Company!
BRAVE OF THE WEEK

#Maconaquah Elementary School fifth grader Josh Copp was nominated as this week窶冱 Brave of the Week by Principal Kelly McPike.

What is something new that you have learned? 窶廬n math, I just learned how to multiply and divide mixed and non-mixed fractions.窶
Give me an example of something that used to be difficult but is now easy? 窶弩hen I first started playing football, I was nervous. There窶冱 a lot of running, but now that I窶况e played it for four or five years, it窶冱 easier.窶
How will that experience help you in the future? 窶廬 now know that I can keep going on with things, even if I get stuck. I窶冤l eventually get it.窶
What is the most exciting thing about going to middle school next year? 窶廴ore friends.窶
What are some things you do every day to be a good student? 窶廬 always try to respect others, keep working on my stuff, and try to help people when they窶决e down.窶

#Maconaquah students did a great job this weekend at Congrティs, an academic French competition held at West Lafayette Jr/Sr High. French IV student Abby Bourne received first place in advanced poetry recitation, first place in advanced translation, and fourth place in advanced vocabulary. French II student Micah Eby received second place in advanced solo instrumental music. Anastasia Spahr received first place in poetry recitation, first place in history/culture, second place in extemporaneous speaking, and third place in sight reading. Leyla White received first place in beginning vocal solo. French I students Malakai Coleman and Jacob Morson also competed.

What is your favorite thing to do in the winter? 窶廴ake a snowman.窶

Why did you like learning how to write in cursive? 窶廬t窶冱 a new way of writing for me.窶
What do you want to be when you grow up? 窶廬 want to play sports.窶
If you can play multiple sports when you窶决e older, what will you play? 窶廝asketball, baseball, and football.窶

BRAVE OF THE WEEK

#Maconaquah Elementary School fourth grader Sara Boyer was nominated as this week's Brave of the Week by Principal Kelly McPike.

What is the hardest thing about fourth grade? "Math. Long division."
What do you do to overcome the challenge? "I have grit."
What are other things that require grit? "My singing."
How long have you been singing? "Since I was three."
What is your favorite thing to sing? "Let it Go and Moana."
#Maconaquah Middle School students were able to donate about 35 tie blankets and fleece blankets and hats to the Peru Police Department last week. 
About 180 seventh graders worked on the blankets the day before Christmas break, which has been a designated community service day at the school for the last few years.

A Generation On grant funded the purchase of supplies to make the blankets, and a few extra donations added the fleece throw blankets and hats to the total gift. 窶弩e want to promote the police department and all the good that they do for the community,窶 said seventh grade teacher Alyson West. 窶弋his is one small way we can help show our support and appreciation.窶
