Last Saturday’s long run run= 17 miles. Today = 0. I’ve been injured since Monday and it’s kind of messing with me emotionally and mentally. Logically I know that rest is the best thing to do- that’s what I would tell anyone I coach- but oh man is it hard. 😩😭
Everyone always told me that having an eating disorder increased my risk of weakening my bones. While I’ve spent the better part of two years clawing my way out of that hole, but this week I have for sure faltered a few times. Not being active sucks. I can’t help but think am I too late? Is the damage from being underweight for so long already done and only now is it manifesting itself? I am feeling slightly better, but that thought of β€œwhat if it’s a stress fracture or something worse” keeps rattling around my head. I have some  appointments next week to get some clarity on what’s wrong

For now, I’m just trying to focus on what I CAN do - PT, strength and cycling - and using this as an opportunity to catch up on blogging, recipe creation and coaching πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Fun Becca fact: feta cheese was one of the last things I stopped eating before going fully vegan. I love salty/savory foods so this tofu feta kind of blew my mind. Add together the protein from the tofu + the hydration/anti-inflammatory properties of the watermelon and you have yourself an amazing runner recipe for the summer. Toss in some blueberries or raspberries for extra sweet benefits

Today’s workout was a 4mi descending tempo with 3x 3-2-1 at the end. My splits on paper read well- 7:07, 6:58, 6:50, 6:41 but they don’t tell the whole story. 😬
After 3 miles I stopped for a few minutes to catch my breath and argue with the voice in my head that said β€œYou’re going to blow up... you used to be able to do this but can’t anymore” But then I said β€œShut up, Arnold” and kept going. (Yes I named him Arnold after the worry wart from Magic School Bus because I am a #90skid  and naming things is a way to make them less scary)

Looking forward to trying a longer tempo without breaks next time, but I’m still in a good mood because today’s @sprinttuesdays crew was the BIGGEST yet!! So while my workout was a mental slog, I am lifted up knowing I am surrounded by such a happy, dedicated, hard-working crowd
