This past week I have been struggling with mindful pausing and the behavioral pattern  which makes me fight any “unproductive” moment. Which means if I am not doing something, I think I should be doing something, I should be using the time efficiently, I should not waste it. .
@therawscientist talked about “hustleporn” which is basically glorifying overworking yourself. That concept has sneaked into my subconscious so deeply that I do not pause mindfully which actually makes me need even more breaks, because I never get to truly rest. .
While this is something intrinsic and the reason behind it is that I have learnt this behavior from my parents ( who had no choice) I also do it because I feel I owe you to always show up, even if the world is on fire ( figuratively speaking). While I stand by that, I also know that you have always been understanding and supportive of me and you would understand if I told you I need some time out. You have no idea how grateful I am for that 💕
.
So today I am trying to heal this bad behavior and try to find my balance. It doesn’t mean I should go to the other spectrum of not holding my end of the “deal”, it just means I should honor myself and my body when I need to recharge. I should learn to rest, so I don’t get blasted out of the game. Thus, today I don’t have a #fridaywilltalk but I shall adress this entire concept of hustle porn and mindfully pausing next week!

Taking a break when I need one seems to be the hardest thing I have to do...I always have to do just one more thing... even if my body gives me the clearest signs that it NEEDS a break, I feel guilty. All the stories and bravados of working long hours, hustling and the belief that you don’t deserve  what you have unless you work yourself to the ground, they all come from my subconscious and make me feel unworthy of a break, make me feel like If my work doesn’t feel like a physical struggle then I don’t deserve to rip its benefit. It is such an ancestral belief! And it ALL boils down to an even more damaging belief: I don’t truly believe I deserve a happy, easy- going life.

This is something we so often have in common, even though we hardly acknowledge it. Not trying to heal that belief leads to burn out, a burn out where you can’t just be fine in a week. It can take months to be able to take your life back. .
So? Are you trying to heal? I am slowly, SLOOOOOOWLY starting to accept I need breaks more often that I would like.

Am tot balit in ultima vreme la tot felul de poze cu curry, ba de legume, ba cu pui, ba cu ce iti poate trece prin cap. Asadar, am citit vreo 5 retete si ca de obicei, am facut tot cum m-a taiat capu’ 🤣.

Durata  preparare: aproximativ o ora - o ora jumatate sa o faceti😬 ce nu pot transmite aici sunt mirosurile glorioase ale mirodeniilor 😅

Ingrediente 6 portii: • 1 piept de pui dezosat si fara piele taiat cubulete, • 3 cepe rosii mici taiate feliute, • 2 cartofi dulci medii curatati si taiati cubulete, • o conserva de naut prefiert, • o tavita de baby spanac, • o conserva de rosii pasate • 2 catei de usturoi, • 1 lingura de ghimbir proaspat ras, • o lingura de ulei de cocos, • 3 lgt curry, • 2 lgt turmeric, • 1 lgt nucsoara, • 1 foaie de dafin, • 1 lgt sare de Himalaya, • 1/2 lgt piper
• zeama de la o jumatate de lamaie

Preparare:
1. Intr-o oala se caleste puiul in uleiul de cocos. 
2. Cand devine usor rumenit se scoate si in locul lui se pune ceapa feliata. 
3. Se gateste pana devinde sticloasa, iar apoi se adauga ghimbirul ras si usturoiul tocat.
4. Se gateste inca un minut si se adauga condimentele si foaia de dafin si se amesteca aproximativ 30 de secunde.
5.  Se adauga conserva de rosii si o cana de apa si se amesteca. Se lasa cu capac timp de 15-20 de minute sa dea in clocot.
6. Se aduga cartoful dulce si nautul si se mai lasa fiert aproximativ alte 20 - 30 de minute pana cand cubuletele de cartof pot fi strapunse usor cu o furculita sau o scobitoare.
7. Se adauga puiul preparat initial si tavita de spanac baby si se mai gateste fara capac timp de 5-10 minute. La sfarsit se adauga zeama de lamaie si se amesteca!

How about fuck it?! Ca am ajuns sa cred ca ar trebui sa aratam toate ca Barbie: piele fina, nici un pliu, nici o burtica, nici un rid, nici o vergetura. S-au insinuat incet incet standardele astea si normalul a devenit ceva de scos in Photoshop.

Do you remember the next generation who had popping joints? Literally, they popped when you bent them😅
We grew up playing with them. I distinctly remember sewing clothing for them. I even made a lookbook in the garden with the collection. My mom supported me and took the photos on film.

It’s weird to realize after yeaars and years, how all the small things creep in your subconscious, how your body image is built by all the details you find meaningless. Perfect joints, perfect body, perfect skin. All that perfection you end up craving, which makes you have all these impossible standards. .
Fortunately, that is only one side of the story. Making clothes for my Barbie dolls is still one of the fondest memories I have. Everything has ups & downs. Celebrate the good, heal the bad.
