Throwback to one of our aromatherapy workshops earlier this year with Julia Lawless at one of our glorious stockists @botanyshope5 pictured here looking lovely...
What type of workshops or topics would you like to see us covering in 2019 & where!? Tag any suggestions below - We want to hear from you!
Make your own festive aromatherapy candles using soy wax with our pre-blended festive joy oil, or a combination of your own choice of essential oils.
The winter months are when we need to bring light & warmth inside & scented candles are the perfect answer. Start collecting jars, glasses or nice ceramic pots to put them in. They also make ideal homemade bespoke presents.
Another fantastic festive use of essential oils is to scent cards, tags & wrapping paper for that extra personal touch! Add 20 drops of oil or our award-winning ‘festive joy’ blend to a glass bottle with an atomiser top then fill with filtered or spring water. Leave the mix to infuse for a week to ten days then use to scent whatever you like. You can also use the oil direct to scent table foliage decorations or Christmas wreaths for an extra perfumed boost!

The Botanical Bible by Sonya Patel Ellis a.k.a. @theherbariumproject is a beautifully illustrated book full of original craft ideas, remedies & recipes inspired by nature using plants & botanical materials. It also contains various insights of internationally renowned plant-inspired experts in their respective fields to come together as a celebration of our botanical world. Our very own Julia Lawless was asked to contribute, where she shares a warming winter aromatherapy body oil recipe in the book.
.
Along with the book, we are also giving away a bottle of our light coconut oil, a lavender & rosemary essential oil, an empty 30ml blue glass bottle & a glass beaker & stirring rod. All oils are included in Julia’s recipe so you can try the body oil out for yourself at home.

Gift both to a friend for Christmas, keep the book & surprise a loved one with your homemade aromatic body oil - or both might just be too good to give away! Good luck!
One of our favourite gifts to make at this time of year is potpourris. Not only does it look gorgeous as an extra bit of festive decoration around the home, it smells wonderful & is great fun to make, especially when getting the kids involved. Our ‘Festive Joy’ is the perfect blend to add to your creations... below is a simple recipe to get started with:
• Head out on a festive foraging expedition to collect pine cones, bark, decorative seed heads etc.
• Dry out your foraged collection by laying them on trays lined with newspaper or hung up in paper bags. You can also slide them under a chest of drawers, or place in a dry, dark cupboard.
• Add in a mixture of other aromatic festive ingredients such as clove buds, cinnamon sticks, star anise or dried citrus fruits.
• Once all materials are fully dried out, place in bowl and add 5-10 drops of 'Festive Joy' and mix thoroughly to disperse the the oil evenly. You can also add any other festive oils you like to the blend such as cinnamon, orange, clove, nutmeg, or bay.
• Once your chosen oils are added and fully mixed in, turn your potpourris into a sealed container or bag and leave for around a week to fully infuse.
• Lastly empty out into a decorative jar or bowl to display and enjoy! You can always top up the potpourris with more oil, as and when needed.
Not surprisingly, our #frankincense oil becomes particularly popular at this time of year!
Apart from being known for its excellent cosmetic, skincare, anti-ageing & perfume uses, frankincense oil has many other health benefits & medicinal uses... these include reducing stress, boosting the immune system, aiding meditation & memory. It has fantastic antiseptic, disinfectant & anti-inflammatory properties, is incredibly healing, especially on scars & wounds & is even being used in some cancer care treatments.
These are to name but a few of the many wonderful properties & benefits of this ancient ‘miracle’ oil. No wonder it was considered such a prized gift 🎁 👑 as an offering & still remains so to this day as an ideal stocking filler! 💫
The Christmas spirit is in full swing @wellbean_ , one of our lovely stockists in Blackheath with our ‘Festive Joy’ blend in their burner. Our very own ‘Christmas in a bottle’ scent uplifts the spirits & gets you in the mood for all the festivities at home or at work! 🎄
