Nothing puts a spring in your step like the crystal clear waters of Bitter Springs! Rather inappropriately named for such a sweet spot, this sandy-bottomed lagoon has startlingly turquoise water 💦💙 Located an hour south of #Katherine in Elsey National Park, the natural spring-fed stream is wonderfully warm and surrounded by tropical woodlands. You'll float fancy-free a couple of hundred metres downstream before reaching a ladder at the end, where you can hop out and do it all over again! With goggles you might see freshwater turtles swimming through the reeds, and loads of fish darting about. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia @offgridmonkey 👍

You'll think you’ve lost your marbles at this unique outback stop! The oddly shaped, gravity-defying rock formations of the #DevilsMarbles (#KarluKarlu) are unlike anything else 🙌 Follow the walkways and find out via the information boards how the granite formations have withstood the forces of wind and rain, unlike the surrounding sandstone. This 1,802 hectare reserve extends along both sides of the Stuart Highway and is roughly 400 kilometres north of #AliceSprings. Stay overnight at the nearby campground to see the large boulders change colour in the early morning light and setting sun. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @raffaelemerler!

Are you planning a trip to #Kakadu National Park? A Yellow Water Cruise is a definite must! If the spectacular sunsets don’t convince you alone, there is also an abundance of native wildlife. Take a cruise with @KakaduTourism and prepare yourself for an epic animal spotting adventure... you’ll see wild buffalo, crocodiles, wild horses and a bucket load of local bird species! Cruises operate from sunrise to sunset, winding their way through the distinct ecosystems of Yellow Water Billabong and tributaries of the South Alligator River. These spectacular wetlands are just minutes from Cooinda Lodge; a great base to explore the southern region of the park. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @emmaphotoaus.

What a whooper of a view, or should we say Walpa of a view! You’ll feel instantly at peace when you enter the beautiful Walpa Gorge 🙌 These towering ochre-coloured domes make up #KataTjuta (#TheOlgas), a large rock formation spread over an area of more than 20 kilometres, roughly 30 kilometres from #Uluru. The 2.6 kilometre walk through Walpa Gorge is one of the shorter and easier trails, but if you're looking for a challenge, we suggest the Valley of the Winds walk which will take you on a circuit of a few of the domes. Towards the end of the day, head to the Kata Tjuta sunset viewing area and soak in the changing colours of the domes and the desert sky.

There's no need to go chasing waterfalls in #Litchfield National Park... they're everywhere! One of the most spectacular falls, Tolmer Falls, cascades over two high escarpments into a deep plunge pool. The bottom section of the falls is protected as its home to several colonies of rare Ghost Bats and Orange Horseshoe Bats. With the absence of swimming, the falls don't quite get the crowds but we like it all the more for that! Don't miss the 1.6km loop track for beautiful views of the valley 😍 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @jackson.groves!

Tell your boss you're not working this weekend... #Katherine Hot Springs officially re-opened for swimming today 😎💦 Located just outside the township of #VisitKatherine, the hot springs are the perfect pit-stop if you're road-tripping through the Top End! These tantalising turquoise pools are naturally spring-fed and shaded under a canopy of pandanus trees 💦 🍃 If you're feeling a bit peckish post-dip, you can grab a bite to eat at the @poprocketcafe, based at the hot springs - they even roast coffee in house!

In desperate need of a #weekend adventure? Why not wander through the incredible Standley Chasm! This Red Centre jewel is a must do, offering breathtaking scenes with it’s rich red rock and hosting walking tracks for all levels. The chasm is only 30 minutes' drive west of #AliceSprings and is one of the many spectacular nature stops in the West MacDonnell Ranges - a region perfect for exploring over a couple of days! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @traveloutbackaustralia.

#Uluru is impressive to see during the daylight hours, but it's almost magical at sunset ✨ This picture-perfect Red Centre icon isn’t just lovely to look at, it also holds great spiritual and cultural significance for the local Aboriginal traditional owners. Join a cultural experience tour with @exploreuluru or @seitoutbackaustralia and learn more about the history behind this special part of @visitcentralaus from knowledgeable guides. Tip: This impressive rock formation changes colours all the time, depending on the time of day and brightness of the sky, so we highly recommend visiting the different viewing platforms at sunrise and sunset to experience this magic for yourself.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @felix__hasler!

When the view is so incredible that you need to sit down and take it all in 🙌 The walks around Nitmiluk (#Katherine) Gorge range from easy one to five kilometre walks to serious full day and overnight hikes. They take you to stunning lookouts, secluded swimming holes and waterfalls, through palm filled valleys and over rocky escarpments. As @irinadan_ discovered, the 8.4 kilometre return Windolf walk is well worth your while, offering sweeping views of the first gorge from Pat's Lookout, along with seasonal swimming at Southern Rockhole down below - perfect for cooling off mid-hike. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Irina!

Talk about mesmerising! The colossal Jim Jim Falls is #Kakadu National Park's biggest waterfall 🙏 During the wet season heavy rains fall across the region, submerging vast tracts of land and fueling these massive falls. Jim Jim can only be seen at this time by air 🚁 From this spectacular vantage point you’ll see the most astonishing side of Kakadu - look down on ancient sandstone plateaus, sheer escarpments, endless wetlands, winding rivers and expanses of floodplains. @north_australian_helicopters offer helicopter flights over the region or you can hop on a scenic flight with @kakaduair or @thescenicflightcompany 👍

If you haven't been to the Red Centre before it might surprise you how many spectacular swimming spots there are around #AliceSprings!  @emmaclaire____ stopped by Ellery Creek Big Hole, a stunning waterhole roughly 90 kilometres from town, in the mighty Ellery Creek which cuts through a gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Massive floods over thousands of years have carved out this permanent waterhole and unlocked some amazing geology. While it might be starting to cool down interstate, it was still a balmy 35 degrees celsius in Alice Springs today.... the perfect temperature to enjoy a dip with a picnic 😍 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Emma!

Can you guess where this is? That's right... you're looking at an incredibly unique view of #Uluru 🙌 One of the great natural wonders of the world, Uluru towers above the surrounding landscape. While this iconic monolith looks incredible at any time of the day, golden hour is particularly special. As the sun hits it on its way down, the colour of the rock changes from a sizzling red to burnt orange to a deep purple as the light fades. Please note: @saltywings obtained special permission from @seeuluru and Traditional Owners to use a drone within the national park. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @saltywings!
