Welcome to Nawurlandja Lookout - this winning wet season location can be found deep in #Kakadu National Park. It offers incredible views across Anbangbang Billabong to Nourlangie Rock and the Arnhem Land escarpment. As far as lookouts go, it's the ultimate place to sit and take in the ancient landscape at #sunset or watch a tropical storm roll in over the next couple of months. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @camblakephotography!

When everything lights up 🙌⚡ As the light gives way to darkness, a sea of colourful solar lights come to life against the backdrop of the mighty #Uluru. The #FieldOfLight exhibition, aptly named Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or ‘looking at lots of beautiful lights’ in local Pitjantjatjara, is Bruce Munro’s largest work to date, with more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted-glass spheres over an area the size of nine football fields. The epic art piece will now be on show until 31 December 2020, giving you plenty of time to start planning your dream trip to the Red Centre.

#Katherine Hot Springs is the ultimate natural bath 💦 The water here naturally heats to between 25-30 degrees celsius 🙌 These crystal clear pools are tucked away on the banks of the Katherine River and pump from deep within the earth. Free to visit, you could easily spend the day here! Located just over a three-hour drive south of #Darwin, #VisitKatherine is a small town with a big list of must-see's, including the spectacular Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge.

"Muuuum, I can feed myself now!" The @alicespringsdesertpark is home to a variety of native Central Australian animals, including the Red Kangaroo. Located just 10 minutes' drive from the centre of #AliceSprings, the wildlife park is the ultimate place to learn more about local flora and fauna. If you time it right, you can join a 'Kangaroo Tales' talk and walk amongst these Aussie icons. There are a heap of other things to see and do during your visit - you can sit in on a free-flying bird presentation, learn about aboriginal survival or organise a close encounter with a wedge-tailed eagle. The colossal Jim Jim Falls is #Kakadu National Park's biggest waterfall 🙏 During the wet season heavy rains fall across the region, submerging vast tracts of land and fueling these massive falls. Jim Jim can only be seen at this time from the air 🚁 If you've ventured to the base of the falls over the drier months, it's well worth returning and seeing Jim Jim at its tropical summer best! Complete with towering stone escarpments and crazy volumes of water crashing into the gorge below, this is a sight you won't forget in a hurry. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @jarradseng.

Flying over #Uluru is one of those out-of-this-world experiences 🙌 @fontesvisuals recently hopped on a #sunrise scenic helicopter flight and as you can see, it was well worth the early start! As the first rays of sunlight hit the landscape, the iconic rock formation changes colour before your very eyes 😍 Uluru rises 348 metres above the surrounding plain - that’s higher than the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Chrysler Building in New York! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Jack.

The only way to sail in the outback is across the sky, floating serenely through the desert dawn in a hot-air balloon 🎈Flights with @outback_ballooning take to the air before #sunrise, ascending as first light illuminates the West MacDonnell Ranges 🙌 It's a gentle journey, travelling with the wind over the red sand country - you'll be amazed by the vast outback landscape surrounding #AliceSprings! Flights last 30 minutes or one hour, landing in a secluded bush area, where you'll finish the experience with a glass of sparkling wine or tropical juice accompanied by muffins, slices, cheese and fresh fruit. We can't think of a better way to start the day! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @shaun_jeffers.

Waterfall season is here! 💦 Southern Rockhole, in Nitmiluk (#Katherine) Gorge, is a great example of the spectacular waterfalls you get to see over the Top End wet season. This tropical summer gem can be found four kilometres from the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre, along the Windolf trail (via Yambi walk). If you're not up for the walk, you can choose to swap the hike for a ferry ride, which brings you within 150 metres of the swimming hole and waterfall. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @thomasfrancillard!

Walking outta work on #Friday like.... 😜 As far as nature experiences go, they don't get much better than @SeaDarwin's Turtle Tracks tour. Operating over the dry season, this exclusive tour takes you on an adventure to visit the Bare Sand Island turtles, in their world and on their terms. With Sea Darwin's marine science backgrounds and passion for sea turtles, you'll be provided with first hand knowledge about the Flatback and Olive Ridley turtles, who visit the island to nest. The experience departs from #Darwin in the afternoon and returns late in the evening depending on turtle activity. Tour dates have just been set for 2019 - limited spots are available!

You'll see more than just spectacular sandstone cliffs on the #KingsCanyon Rim Walk! Roughly halfway along the 6 kilometre hike, the trail descends into the Garden of Eden, a shady and tranquil oasis. Surrounded by lush greenery and the red walls of the canyon, this permanent waterhole is a water source for many native animals. The traditional owners of the region consider this a sacred place and ask that travellers don't swim here so that there's no risk to the water supply. Watarrka National Park is an important conservation area and home to more than 600 native species of plant and animals – many of which are completely unique to the area between Alice Springs and Uluru.

#Darwin is pretty magical year round but between November to April, Mother Nature cranks it up a notch or two and the town gets into the spirit of the tropics. Any local will tell you that the sunsets over the wet season are dazzling, not to mention the magnificent lightening shows! You can grab a harbour-side seat at the @darwinskiclub, @darwin_trailer_boat_club, @stokeshillwharf, or jump aboard @SeaDarwin for a sunset harbour cruise. @helene.sr recently took in this spectacular show at @skycitydarwin, the ultimate tropical escape located right next to Mindil Beach. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Helene!

Keen to spot saltwater crocodiles, buffalo, wild horses and a heap of birdlife? 📸👀 If you're visiting #Kakadu National Park, make sure you hop on a Yellow Water Cruise with @KakaduTourism! Cruises operate from sunrise to sunset, winding their way through the distinct ecosystems of Yellow Water Billabong and tributaries of the South Alligator River. These spectacular wetlands are just minutes from Cooinda Lodge; a great base to explore the southern region of the park. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @oscarwastaken!
