"The way I see it, being dead is not terribly far off from being on a cruise ship. Most of your time is spent lying on your back. The brain has shut down. The flesh begins to soften. Nothing much new happens, and nothing is expected of you."β€’

This is honestly one of the most fascinating books I've ever read...Who knew I'd say that about a book about corpses! I absolutely love Mary Roach's writingβ€”she makes it engaging and easy to understand while also adding in little bits of humor here and there. My only trouble is desperately wanting to share every fact in this book with other people, but also not wanting to be THAT person who talks excitedly about dead bodies. πŸ˜…

If you haven't, I HIGHLY recommend you read one of Mary Roach's books!

Update on my library haul: One down, five to go!β€’

Hi, friends! I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. I recently made progress on my collection of library books and finished Replica by Lauren Oliver. Unfortunately, I really wasn't fond of it, so now I'm onto the next book! I think I'm going to start one of my more interesting nonfiction reads from this pile.

What are you all reading today? Let me know!
I think I’m gonna try to read this along with the Netflix show. I remember really liking it in high school, and I’m curious to know if I still like it now.
Hands down, the best way to boost your progress on your Goodreads Reading Challenge is marathon reading Lumberjanes. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŒ²β€’

Happy Easter, everyone! Whatever your plans are for the day, I hope it's wonderful and that it's beginning to feel like spring where you are. Spend some time outdoors. Admire nature. Take in all the sights and smells, and appreciate the people you're surrounded by. And in Lumberjane fashion, FRIENDSHIP TO THE MAX. πŸ’›πŸŒΌ
When you go the library expecting to have one hold available, only to walk out with an armful of books. πŸ’›πŸ“š Featuring: Delirium by Lauren Oliver!

I'm so excited to read all of these books! I have a few kooky titles in here, like a book on Masters and Johnson as well as a book on the life of human cadavers. I thought it'd be a neat way to change up my reading a bit. πŸ˜‰
It was finally a nice day today, so I went to town and picked up some books from the library! πŸ“šβ€’
I'm honestly SO excited to read all of these! I'm especially looking forward to reading Replica. It seems like it'll be really interesting. Has anyone else read it, or any of these other books featured? I'd love to hear what you thought!β€’

I'm totally falling in love with this series. It's so fun, and I love all of the characters so much. I also like how these books are giving me more reason to take bookish pictures outdoors!

I've heard very mixed reviews about this book, so I'm a little hesitant about reading it. I absolutely love his other book, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, though, so I'm interested to see whether his new book measures up.

Has anyone else read this yet? Feel free to let me know your thoughts!
I was out with this book today, on my way to return it to the library. But then I stopped in a Starbucks first, and it looked so nice sitting there on the table. I couldn't help but squeeze in one last photo op for this gorgeous novel.
I just started reading this, and I can already tell I'm going to fly through it in a flash. SO glad there are more volumes to look forward to!!! πŸŒ²πŸŒΏπŸ‚πŸŒ²
