The AIGA BGSU student group had the pleasure to visit alumni Rick Valicenti’s (‘73) design studio, Thirst, this past Friday. Fourteen members of the group made the trek to chilly Chicago, IL to view the award winning studio and interact with team members like partner Bud Rodecker and BGSUGD alumni Zach Minnich (‘14). The students were presented a lectured tailored by Rick just for the group’s visit that both showed off new work in progress, as well as a selection of imaginative and impactful projects that have captured the essence of how Thirst approaches design. The group also took the time to walk around downtown Chicago and experience beautiful sites like Willis Tower, Union Station, and (of course) The Bean. An overall successful trip that yielded plenty of awesome knowledge and inspiration. Thanks again Thirst for your hospitality and insights!
