Alkalizing effects equivalent to 2 heads of broccoli🤗

Chronic mild metabolic acidosis is rampant with very little people actually balancing their acid intake with enough alkaline foods (vegetables & fruits)😞 There is a very simple way to find out how you're doing, and this includes a Cumulative Serum Biochemistry blood panel + Urine Test Strips🔬

A fasting bicarbonate result of less than 26 (>26 is optimal) = reduced capacity to deal with acid/to much acid🤒

An anion gap of more than 13 (8-12 is optimal) = increased inflammation, kidney disease, hypertension, all-cause mortality, insulin resistance & more😱

Ideal urinary pH is 6.5-7.0. This is affected by food intake though, for up to 4hrs after eating. So best time for collection is before lunch/dinner/bed time - 4hrs after previous meal😊

All of these 3 things should be used TOGETHER to check for chronic mild metabolic acidosis, not one standalone💪 
Consequences of CMMA include bone loss, musculoskeletal aches, pain & inflammation, muscle wasting, reduced performance, increased cortisol, hypothyroidism, obesity, hypertension, low testosterone, kidney stones, gout, arthritis, metabolic issues and more!! 🤦‍♀️ Basica taken 1-2x per day for 12 weeks can significantly improve this condition. This morning for breakfast I'm having smoked salmon, avo, cherry tomato & leafy greens with a slice of paleo toast. A balanced nutritious meal that takes 5mins to put together. When my patients tell me they eat boxed cereal for breaky like cornflakes, nutrigrain etc and I ask them why? And the most common answer is time - 'its quick and easy'. My response - It's also quick & easy to prepare a nutritionally beneficial breakfast such as mine in the pic! Everyone can spare 5 minutes, even if it means dragging your ass out of bed 5mins earlier 😉 .

Easy peasy 15min Chicken Cashew Stir Fry! Chop up all the vegies you like (I used bok choy, broccoli, carrot, zucchini, green beans, shallots) + chicken sliced into pieces. Heat wok, add 1tsp coconut oil, add chicken & cook for 1-2mins, add coconut aminos + organic sweet chilli sauce + tsp raw honey. Cook through. Add all the vegies except for bok choy and cook for 3-4 mins. Add bok choy + handful cashews + sprinkle of chilli flakes. Stir it all through and serve! So much nutrition, so quick & simple 😍 .

We women especially can be suckers for giving in to those carby cravings (insert week leading up to period want to eat allllll the foods)🙋‍♀️ These are the times when your body is saying feed me something nutritious like vegetables & fruits & nuts & seeds & wholegrains! Whilst chocolate is far more tempting, it's definitely not going to provide your body with the vitamins & minerals it's wanting. Instead of chocolate, opt for trail mix or bliss balls made with cacao if you REALLY want chocolate before you have a meltdown 😂 More of a savoury gal? Opt for vegie sticks like carrot, celery, capsicum with hummus, guac.. Something more? Brown rice cakes with hummus or guac + tomato are another quick & easy option! .
