The @torontoblackfilmfest is fast approaching and this year's edition we'll co-present a great Brazilian film. Running After (Correndo Atrás) tells the story of Paulo Gale, a typical “day-by-day survivor”, that discovers the opportunity to become a football manager by leading some boy from the neighborhood to becoming the new Neymar of international soccer.
This must-watch will be screened February 16 at 5pm on the Carlton Cinema - Toronto.

MARIA, DON’T FORGET I COME FROM THE TROPICS - An examination of the relationship between the life and art of Maria Martins (1894-1973), who is now recognized as one of the greatest Brazilian sculptors, in addition to her success with engravings and texts. The film reveals the greatness of her work and her boldness when dealing with feminine sexuality, a transgression that led to attacks by Brazilian critics. At the same time, the film uncovers her life as the wife of an important diplomat and her collaborative efforts with fellow artist, Marcel Duchamp.
The Film will be presented by director Elisa Gomes and director of photography Hugo Kovensky.
