Welcome back Marauders, we are glad to see you in 2019!
In hopes of clarifying parking, and to help you have a great semester I am highlighting a few reminders concerning parking on campus.
1.) A poster with a detailed parking map and parking rules is displayed in all residential halls and academic buildings. A copy is attached to this email.
2.) All vehicles on campus must have a parking decal, including those students who commute to campus. Decals can be purchased in Cash Management on the 1st floor of the Ward Center from 8AM-4PM. All Vehicles must have a decal by 6PM on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.
3.) All vehicles without a decal will be ticketed and towed off campus at owner’s expense.
4.) There is NO STUDENT PARKING allowed on the administration side of the parking lot directly across from the Newsom Building (Administration). Any student vehicle found parked in this lot (EVEN WITH A DECAL) will be TICKETED and TOWED. Student parking is in the side lot.
Students are not allowed to park in any reserved lot or reserved parking spaces at any time, including weekends.
Faculty and Staff are to park in the lots marked in maroon on the map.
Residential Students are to park in the lots marked in purple on the map.
Commuter Students have been given their own lots this year and they are marked in orange on the map. DO NOT park in the reserved spaces in these lots.
Student parking lots are located in the following locations:
Simpson Parking Lot- directly behind police department, adjacent to basketball courts
Hunter and Williamson Hall’s-behind each building (back parking lots)
Ward Center- Any space other than reserved. (You share this lot with faculty and staff.)
Newsom Lot- side lot facing African American Museum.
Commuter Students parking lots are located in the following locations:
Beacom/Lewis Gymnasium lot (DO NOT park in reserve spaces)
Charles S. Smith Hall- lot adjacent to the building. (DO NOT park in reserve spaces)
Joshua I. Smith CENS- parking lot directly behind building (DO NOT park in reserved spaces)
Mass Communication Center- lot adjacent to building. (DO NOT park in reserved spaces)
The CENTRALIAN GIFT “A Centralian is someone who uses the tenets of Service, Protocol, and Civility to invest in themselves and Central State University. If you can use your abilities to help others, you are a Centralian.”
– Umiqua Avery ‘18
Happy Holidays Centralians,
Your alma mater has experienced phenomenal achievements throughout the 2018 academic year. Campus upgrades have exceeded expectations and enrollment is steadily growing with new, academically prepared students from Ohio, nationally and internationally.
As you are aware from the many press releases, Central State University is gaining significant traction and momentum as an 1890 Land-Grant Institution. For almost two years, the president, administration and staff have worked with state and federal congressional leaders to receive equity funding through the FARM BILL. Our efforts have paid off, and Central State University will receive its fair share of funding for STEM and agricultural scholarships, resources, research and extension! As Centralians, we should be proud and excited about our future!
Despite the infrastructural growth, there is still a great need to support the many students who fall short of having the resources for tuition, room and board, textbooks, and day-to-day needs. Our student population is over 85% Pell Grant eligible. Although Pell Grant funding helps, it does not cover the students’ full cost of attendance. Tuition and cost of attendance must be met, and the University cannot excuse the debt.
This is where the TRUE CENTRALIAN enters and supports students with a financial gift! Believe in these students and Believe in Central State University! Your sustained gift (big or small) will change the lives of many students who are following the same path that you traveled.
#CentralState87 Believers year-end gifts can make the difference for many students. Please go to CSUBelievers.com and donate as an individual or join a team.
Many corporations offer matching gift programs that double or triple the value of donations from their employees. Your company’s matching gift will be added to your gift. Please contact our office at 937-376-6373 with any questions.
