MINT, CLOVE + CINNAMON MOUTHWASH

Cinnamon and cloves are awesome little spices for bad breath. Cinnamon contains cinnamic aldehyde, which reduces the amount of bacteria in your saliva, and cloves have powerful antiseptic properties to zap bad breath. The combination of clove, cinnamon and peppermint in this mouth rinse gives your mouth a nice zing (2 thumbs up from the hubby!) and you can use it as often as you’d like because it doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients.

Ingredients

1 cup water
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 drops peppermint essential oil
Instructions

Bring the water to a boil and add cloves, cinnamon and peppermint and remove from heat. Let the spices infuse for about 10 minutes.
Strain the mixture twice with a fine mesh strainer.
Pour into a bottle with lid and keep refrigerated.

Roasted Chickpeas ~ you've gotta try these in your next salad...or just to snack on 'em! 🤗
1 can chickpeas, rinsed
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. paprika
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
Preheat oven to 425. Coat chickpeas with olive oil & spread out on a cookie sheet so they are in one layer. 👍 Place in oven for 10 mins. Mix all dried spices in a bowl. Pull chickpeas out of oven & toss in the mixture. 💃 Place back in the oven & cook for 20 mins or until golden brown. Remove & let cool.

Exfoliation is key to combating dry, winter skin. Brightening Grapefruit Facial Scrub

1 cup sugar (the finer the grit the better)
½ grapefruit
5 drops lavender essential oil
3 tablespoons avocado oil

Juice half a grapefruit, the strain any seeds or pulp. Combine the juice and sugar into a bowl and then pour in the avocado oil. Mix and add the lavender essential oil; stir to incorporate. To clean skin, apply a half dollar size amount of scrub to the face, careful to avoid the delicate eye area. Be sure to use light pressure with only your middle and ring fingers to spread the scrub in circular motions. Spend extra time on your lips and rinse with warm water. Follow with hydrating serum and/or moisturizer. Scrub can be preserved in refrigerator for up to a week.
