Throwback to that time @eleanormay_c and I yoga-ed in the park βœŒπŸ»πŸ‘€ It was such a warm day; we had lunch and coffee in the sun and I got a mini shoulder tan! β˜€οΈ I was also way too hot wearing these cool poppy red @aloyoga leggings, but hey you live and you learn. πŸ“ It’s a grey, rainy day today, and all I’m thinking about is whether it’s acceptable to start making pumpkin spice things again. It’s hard to believe I’ll be in @obonjan this time next week! πŸ’™πŸ’πŸΌ

I’ve had such a strange week you guys. 🀳🏻 From making sure I’m being an exemplary intern with @nimaconsultancy to having my first acupuncture appointment, last weekend was very welcome. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

A note on acupuncture: what a fascinating way of encouraging healing! πŸ’™ It doesn’t particularly hurt and isn’t scary at all. The hardest thing to hear was that my β€˜coldness’ and tendency for slight anxiety does not work well with salads πŸ₯— or caffeine. I am fuelled by huge plates of kale and large cups of coffee! πŸ‘€πŸ’ But hey, this weekend I’ve taken time to adjust. I’m making soups 🍲 instead of salads, and drinking herbal teas instead of coffee. Not to mention I can still rely on decaf! β˜•οΈ .

And it's time for another #throwbackthursday! πŸ‘€ I'm looking back to the amazing photo shoot featuring @lilydriffillphotography. I have to say, it's kinda weird working behind the scenes of the company I'm an ambassador for! πŸ‡§πŸ‡· I get to write blog content, post on social media, and well, I'm basically responsible for their online image. For some reason you forget how much work goes into a social media campaign; it's a huge part of online sales - every tweet or Facebook status could reach another potential client. But from me to you - Brasilfit is a pretty cool company. πŸ’™ I've always been drawn to high-quality, trendy yet timeless activewear. These mesh leggings really fit the bill - not only are they compression wear (read: keeps everything in place and looking smooth), they're also very on trend, and definitely more than just a gym piece. .
I can't quite believe it's almost the end of week 2 at @nimaconsultancy! πŸ™ŒπŸ» What has everyone been up to? I'm so glad the sun is finally showing up to the party because the last two weeks have been utterly miserable. I always try to remember what @pradeepyoga taught us on his workshop a while back; rain is regenerating and energising, and necessary for the planet. But I have my limits. πŸ™ƒπŸŒ§

Patanjali’s eight limbs act as reminders to live a meaningful life, day in, day out β˜€οΈ For me, it’s the true test of yoga. Can you sustain the message of yoga in your everyday life, or does it end when you leave your mat? πŸ‘€πŸŒˆ

Integrity, self-discipline, posture, breath, sensory withdrawal, concentration, meditation and ecstasy. I can honestly say I do not carry many of these into my daily life! And even in my practice, I wouldn’t say I feel ecstatic πŸ™ƒπŸ‘€ Sometimes, all I wish is for my arms to just be a little stronger, after all this time. 🌺

Happy #tuesday to you all! 🌈 Today is my first full day interning at @nimaconsultancy, and this super pretty coffee is all I could ever have asked for πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜­ I spent the day creating a social media strategy for @brasilfituk ✌🏻, taking lots of vitamin C to keep to onset of a cold at bay β˜€οΈ and crossing @nickyhayer26 in the building on my way to the toilet πŸ‘€ A #tuesdaytip for y’all: ditch those shoes that give you blisters. I’ve been walking like a penguin all day and will be donating my flats ASAP. πŸ™ƒπŸ§

I had the most chilled out weekend of my entire life, spending time at the market for fresh fruit and vegetables πŸ‘β˜€οΈ, stopping for coffee along the way β˜•οΈ, advancing in my #Ashtanga practice πŸ•‰ and watching Netlifx!
.
In between all this chilling I did actually manage to make a meal that wasn’t just leftovers or lentil soup πŸ˜‚ with fresh white sourdough from @bluebirdbakeryyorkshire . I turned to sourdough because the fermentation process makes the gluten supposedly more digestible, but since I do not actually have a problem with gluten, I now just eat it because I enjoy eating it! πŸ˜—πŸ₯– I rubbed some olive oil and garlic on two slices, and topped them with smashed avo πŸ₯‘, sardines 🐟 and feta πŸ§€. And a couple of sprigs of home-grown basil! πŸƒ

πŸ“Breathe into the lower back to create space, broadness and to keep the connection to the bandhas.

πŸ“Move the bodyweight into the toes to feel even more length in the back and thighs and to keep the legs active.

Oh hi this is just a dreamy shot of warm bread from @lachiusadichietri πŸ˜­πŸ™ŒπŸ» I snapped a month ago on our last meal at the hotel! 🌞 I swear I have some degree of self control, but when faced with a bread basket like this one, you simply can't resist! .
🍴Fun fact🍴Those little bagel-shaped crackers are called "taralli". They're freaking delicious and a staple Apulian food. You can easily find them elsewhere but nothing beats a warm batch, fresh from the oven! 😩😍

A couple of days late, but not a couple of days inconsistent! πŸ€— As I promised myself, I ran through at least half the primary series on day 1 and day 2 of the challenge hosted by @kinoyoga and @omstarsofficial .

I'm doing the #ashtangayogachallenge hosted by @kinoyoga and @omstarsofficial for the next 30 days! πŸ’“ I'm taking this opportunity to build a tad more discipline, consistency and detachment to my practice. πŸ‘―

I started Ashtanga almost 3 years ago without realising I had fallen into a rigorous and traditional approach to yoga: there's no freestyling, no doing what you feel like, no "handstand only" days. You either do it or you don't. At the beginning, there was a lot of "doing" for me, but I've lost my way!
.
So. I'm not only committing to posting a posture every day, I'm also committing to practicing every day for 30 days. At least. I know it won't be easy but if so many others can do it, so can I πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»
.
Also, I say "detachment" because practicing for 90 minutes always feels like such an event and an achievement and, let's face it, an effort. It's not always fun to get on your mat. I want to learn to detach the feelings I have when I think "time to practice" from the action of actually doing it by essentially ignoring myself πŸ˜‚ I'm just gonna do it, no discussion. I want this, I've got this. Who's with me? πŸ˜‹

I've not had the most awesome couple of days with travelling and all πŸš‚ ✈️ 🚒 🚌. My body just goes haywire if I don't pay attention ⚠️ and I'm very busy. πŸ’†πŸΌ I think self-care is on the menu for me this week, once I get home 🏑 this evening! 😍

Luckily my time in πŸ“Luxembourg πŸ“has been interspersed with many many coffee breaks and yoga sessions and those "me-times" are the only thing keeping me sane πŸ˜‚ even though I sometimes feel I'm not doing enough πŸ™†πŸΌ, I do plenty. Please please please don't let yourself be influenced by the amount others seem to be doing, or let yourself feel down because you've been lazy for a week straight. It doesn't matter. You come first, you're all you've got πŸ€—
