"Be Your Best Self" How often do you hear that and agree?? It is something I used to subscribed to. But it doesn't resonate anymore. Because what does that mean?... When I am not my best (aka perfect) self then I am not enough? then something is wrong with me? then I am not as good as others who are always their "best" selves? Ugh, that feels like shit. And it only feeds the "do more, be better, fix yourself, push yourself, deny your feelings and needs" wounded messaging so many people are suffering from unconsciously. .
Instead of striving to be your best self, how about be your Whole Self. Allow yourself to have bad days, take breaks, sleep in, get angry, not go to the party, screw up, say the wrong thing, cancel your plans, lay in bed all day, etc. .
Underneath needing to be your best self is conditional self-acceptance. Being your whole self allows space and acceptance for it all, the real - raw - fully human You.
So good! 🌟 Everyone is responsible for their own emotions, and healing requires feeling your own emotions.
How often do you say sorry out of unconscious habit?
Women have been conditioned to overuse the word “sorry”, saying it for everything. It’s disempowering and diminishing. A true sorry, when warranted is powerful, vulnerable and healing. All other times, it’s inauthentic
Stop saying sorry when you don’t mean it
Stop saying sorry out of habitual conditioning
Stop saying sorry as a way to people please and avoid your real feelings.
Stop saying “sorry, but...” as a way to diminish your truth or ask. (Because when you say “but” everything you said before it is untrue)
Stop saying sorry as a space holder
Stop saying sorry for being “too emotional” or “in a bad mood” or for “talking too much”
Stop saying sorry for putting your needs first, for changing your mind, or for speaking your truth
When you say sorry and don’t mean it, not only does it feel gross to you, it also feels fake to the person you say it to
You deserve to exist here. You deserve to have needs, wants, desires, preferences. Stop apologising for yourself
Sorry is only powerful when you mean it.

I love that this deep perspective on depression by @jefffosterofficial went viral recently because a celebrity shared it while posting about her own experience and how this rang true for her.... its right on.
Rather than further suppression with meds, perhaps the best medicine for depression is EXPRESSION 🌟💦💓

It’s been a joy and inspiration to witness my younger sister navigate pregnancy with such grace, intention and power. She has made loving choices for herself and Lyla every step of the way - creating her birth team, regular body work, nutrition, rest, mental and energetic prep, practicing healthy boundaries, yoga, meditation, fun, impeccable self-care, and so much more. She has truly taken care of herself on all levels. .
And now she surrenders, maintains her connection to Self, trusts life and let’s go of everything else. What a sacred time it is 💓 .
All the feels 💕 So much gratitude, honor and Love 💖 @rachshevs
