In conjunction with World Food Day and Pan Pacific Hotels Group's community initiative, Chefs from 5 Pan Pac Group of hotels — @panpacificsingapore, @panpacificorchard, @parkroyalpickering, @parkroyalbeachroad and @parkroyalkitchener will be creating dishes using ingredients from local farms. These dishes will be available from now till 15 August 2017 as part of the respective hotel's dinner buffet spread.

Over at Edge Pan Pacific Singapore, Chef Michele Greggio is serving the Spiced Dust Mushroom Fritters. It is easily a crowd favorite with that additive homemade blend of chilli, cumin, garlic and onion seasoning.

Part of the proceeds of the buffet dinner will go to purchase food parcels for the low-income households.

Peony Jade at Clarke Quay introduces a set lunch menu available daily and priced at $138.80++/2pax, minimum 2 to dine.

The set menu showcases classic Chinese favorites such as dimsum, crabs, kailan, dan dan noodles, mango purée and a glass of Singapore sling. The trio of dimsum served as appetizer was very delicately prepared with quality ingredients used and you can taste the whole fresh prawn in each piece!

My favorite was the Tea Smoked Soft Yolk Egg topped with fish roes and micro herbs at Lime at Parkroyal on Pickering. One bite into it and I knew that one-half was definitely not enough!

@southunionpark prides itself in making most of its ingredients from scratch, and we could easily tell when we tried the dishes.

Take for example the SUPer Breakfast ($15), the house muffin, sausage patties and tater tots are all freshly made in-house. The tater tots are one of the most amazing ones I've had — the creamy smooth potatoes on the inside with a perfect ring of crispy skin on the outside. It took Chef @terence_chuah quite awhile to perfect it and I absolutely loved the end product!

The breakfast menu is now available on weekends from 0900-1200 (last order at 1145)!

Checked out the Candlenut x Wild Rocket collaboration this evening at Streat, which is part of the Singapore Food Festival.

Being a fan of @candlenutsg, I was happy to find interesting yet delicious creations by both chefs — Tiger Beer Battered Red Snapper and Baby Squid, Buah Keluak Chye Tow Kueh, Valrhona Dark Chocolate Rojak and Roxy Laksa Mussels ($10 each). We unexpectedly had a good view of the fireworks too while savouring these dishes. What a good night ✨

@opendoorpolicysg introduces its gluten and dairy free menu items and one of my favorite is the Spaghetti Alle Vongole ($28). The pasta is freshly made using rice flour and it's absolutely springy! Each strand is well coated with the Japanese white miso sauce that is further enhanced with the sweetness from the clams.

Southern fried chicken ($45 — good for 2 pax) that is brined for 27 hours before being fried to a golden brown with spices and served with a cheddar cheese waffles. The accompanying hot honey sauce pairs well with the former, while the bourbon maple syrup works with the latter. I'd return for the fried chicken as the chicken and waffles combination was too heavy for me. Thankfully, the chilled spiced watermelon helped to balance it out.
