Not the most photogenic dish around but the Nasi Campur ($25) definitely stole our tastebuds tonight. Candlenut never fails to deliver the ultra lemak Peranakan flavors — especially that beef rendang, homemade sambal & fried salted vegetable duck ball!

Hello to another durian season of the year! Here’s 王中王 (King of King) and 猫山王 (Premium Mao Shan Wang) which are both bittersweet with an intense creamy texture. I can’t decide which I prefer as both are equally satisfying 😋 @the_durian_story imports their durian from the plantation on a daily basis and you can follow them on fb/ig to find out the daily prices. Reservations are highly recommended!

The Signature Lobster Porridge ($55/4 pax) is a must-have at Wan He Lou. The chicken based soup broth is incredible —  boiled for hours till rich and extra comforting, completed with some umami goodness from the lobster that is added towards the end to prevent it from over cooking. Deep water lobsters are also used for its sweetness that adds flavor to the broth!

Fun times with my yoga buddies @sheryllyx_ and @ksherena as we flowed through Vinyasa, breathed through Meditation and stuck our sticky bodies together through Buddy Yoga. Buddae jiggae is one of my Korean comfort food with simple ingredients such as ramyeon, spam, sausage and enoki mushrooms. Seoul Yummy offers a one pax portion which I appreciate as we get to try out other dishes too, especially with its wide range of dishes! The Return of Wagyu ($22.9) features slices of premium US wagyu beef that is served raw on the side and you can do a quick dip in the broth so that it doesn’t get over cooked. The premium meat definitely added some colors to this classic Korean dish!

Egglets with a scoop of ice cream that is good for an afternoon tea snack, or it can even make a meal for those with a sweet tooth! We tried a few of the egglets such as matcha and pork floss, but the Charcoal Cheese stood out with the generous amount of melted mozzarella cheese that introduces a hint of savoury taste.

A plate of white beehoon ($50/2pax, $68/pax) that is loaded with lots of fresh seafood — lobster, crayfish, clams, prawns and sliced fish. With such a generous amount of crustaceans, the broth is filled with umami-ness. It would be even better if the beehoon was cooked in the broth longer to absorb the sweetness of it. Definitely a good alternative for those looking for a less greasy option at Chomp Chomp Food Centre!

That perfect pink on the inside of the USDA Prime Dry Aged Porterhouse Steak, which was carefully dry aged in house at Wolfgang's Steakhouse. Not to forget the sides which complement the steaks, the creamed spinach and German potatoes are excellent choices!
