Back again with another technique Tuesday video, this time focusing on the Dumbbell lateral raise!

When done correctly this is a really effective exercise at targeting your middle deltoids!
.
Make sure you focus on technique first rather than more weight, as correct muscle activation and time under tension will play a huge part in getting lean and muscular arms!

Can I train while I’m pregnant? I get asked this question all the time!
.
The answer: Of course you can!
.
Here are my top tips for training during pregnancy
.
1/ Listen to your body. If your body says no or is tired have a rest
.
2/ Don’t start anything new, if you haven’t been weight training, then 18 weeks pregnant is not the time to start
.
3/ Keep an eye on your heart rate. Don’t let your heart rate get over 140-150 beats per minute. This will mean you need more rest than you normally would
.
4/ Use common sense. Don’t do crunches or try for a chest press PB. Be smart!
.
5/ Rest. This might mean a longer break between sets, or even a rest day. It’s ok to take a day off from the gym and go for a walk instead. It all goes back to number 1!!!
.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
.
If you haven’t been doing any exercise leading up to your pregnancy it doesn’t mean you can’t start, I just suggest you do it under the guidance of a professional; Physio, Pilates instructor or personal trainer with experience training pregnant women
.
