Along with dozens of other volunteers, Janell Franks, Freeman RN, helped with “Chase the Chill Joplin.” To spread warmth and good cheer, more than 600 scarves were donated by individuals and organizations across the community. On Saturday, December 9, volunteers canvased the city, hanging scarves from tree branches and other easily accessible, visible places where people in need might find them. Each scarf is tagged with the message: “If you need some warmth, take this scarf! If you just like this scarf, take it!”
