"I used to be an event rider and horsey enthusiast. 🐎
.
"About 5 years ago on a normal day at the yard, I was kicked in the head by one of the horses and thrown. I fractured my skull, bruised my frontal lobe and had a bleed to the brain as well as breaking my lumbar 1, 2 and 3.
.
"This was the end of my eventing life so I took an office job, which I am still doing part-time. I decided to re-train and take on Nutrition and PT.

A couple of great leg focused exercises from Riley for you to try, alongside some solid advice.πŸ‘‡

Exercise 1 - Deadlifts (Pyramid Set) 12, 8, 4, 2, 4, 8, 12.
.
β€œAfter doing deadlifts I felt a pain in my lumbar as it was already aggravated from the day before, I decided to ignore it and move onto exercise 2.”
.
Exercise 2 - Box split squats into Kettlebell front squat (SuperSet) 3x12 -3x10. .
β€œAfter completing three rounds my back was still on fire and it felt weak on all exercises. I decided to cut my session short and take the day as a rest day. It is important to listen to your body and rest, rather than pushing through and causing further pain or injury. To finish the session off I completed a few rounds of lower back stretches and called it a day!”
.
Whilst it is always great to smash out a high intensity workout, we always need to be aware of what our body is telling us. πŸ˜…
