The Gardens (and the Gardeners) all sighed a great sigh of relief as the puddles started to form today and the plants (and the Gardeners) got a nice refreshing shower!
Today we’re growing artists in the greenhouse! We have a group in doing botanical illustrations with Twila Robar-Decoste. There’s still space in the July watercolour workshop if you want to join in on the fun.
A rainy day is a great day for witnessing the many colours of green and the diversity of ferns in the forest.
We’re pretty old school here at the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens. Our favourite way to learn about gardening is through books and conversation. Join us Thursday at 7pm in the auditorium at the KC Irving centre for a talk with garden guru Todd Boland as we help him launch his beautiful new book. @todd.boland @kcirvingcentre @acadiauniversity
Acadia Earth and Environmental Science students had a lesson in ecological forestry in the gardens this week during their field school. #acadiau students are lucky to have such a great outdoor classroom!
