The auspicious 9-day festival of #Navratri ends with #Dussehra, which marks the victory of good over evil, following the story of the evil king Ravana who was defeated by Lord Ram on this day. People come together at local fairs full of fun games, street food, Ferris-wheels and other fun activities. The highlight of the evening is the burning of towering effigies of Ravana, a symbolic representation of the destruction of evil. #FestivalsOfIndia #Festival #IndiaByCreative #Celebrations #GoodOverEvil #Hope #NewBeginnings #TravelToIndia
The intriguing diversities of India are nowhere represented more alluringly than in the festivals of the country. In parts of Andhra Pradesh, the nine days of #Navratri are celebrated as Bathukamma Panduga - a festival dedicated to Maha Gauri, the goddess representing womanhood. During this time, women make traditional flower stacks and perform pujas. At the end of Navratri, the stacks are set afloat on nearby lakes or water bodies. #FestivalsOfIndia

A common ritual of #Navratri is Kanjak, celebrated on the eighth or ninth day, where pre-pubescent girls are worshipped to represent the nine forms of Durga. A delicious meal of crispy pooris, spicy channas and sweet halwa is prepared for the girls; and is the special treat for the day, after days of fasting! #FestivalsOfIndia #Festivals #India #TravelToIndia #Celebrations #Festivity #TravelToIndia #Worship #GoddessDurga #IndiaByCreative
The last four days of #Navratri are celebrated as #DurgaPuja in the eastern states of West Bengal, Assam and Bihar. The festival celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil demon Mahishasura.
This is a great time to visit the city of joy Kolkata! All over the city, ornate “pandals” (or stalls) pop up, where Goddess Durga resides, amongst much ceremony and celebrations. You might have to battle big crowds, but the amazing food on offer and the sheer enthusiasm in the air makes a trip to one of these "pandals" well worth it! #FestivalsOfIndia #India #TravelToIndi #Festivals #DurgaPuja #Kolkata #Pandal #PandalHopping #Festivities #GoddessDurga #Celebrations #TravelToIndia
While Indians celebrate #Navratri in various ways, this is a deeply spiritual time for many, dedicated to devotion and religious ceremonies. In North India, one of the best ways to experience this is at a night of Jagran - an all-night vigil where religious music and dance are performed, in remembrance of the Gods. #FestivalsOfIndia #India #IndiaByCreative #Jagran #Music #Religious #Celebrations #ReligiousGathering #IndiaByCreative #TravelToIndia
Almost every region of India has its own unique way of celebrating and marking the nine days and nights of #Navratri, making it a truly special time to visit India. In Varanasi, communities come together to perform Ramlila - a dramatic re-enactment of the life of Lord Rama - usually at sunset on the banks of the Ganges. #FestivalsOfIndia #India #IndiaByCreative #Ramlila #Varanasi #Celebrations #Festival #TravelToIndia #Travel
#Navratri evenings are a great time to witness the colourful traditions and culture of India as people come together to celebrate through the night with special feasts, folk songs and dances like garba and dandiya. In Gujarat, the folk dance of Dandiya Raas is especially popular. Dancers in colourful clothes come together in circles with dandiya sticks in hand. And move in synchronised steps, striking the sticks to the beats of folk music. #FestivalsOfIndia #Celebrations #IndiaByCreative #NavratriFestival #India #TravelToIndia #Dandiya #Garba #FolkDance #Gujarat

We conducted a session on Organ Donation Awareness at Creative Travel HQ, today. It helped create awareness about organ donation and transplantation.
Organ donation from deceased donors is gaining momentum in India and it is time to take this program further to help thousands of patients with organ failure get a second chance at life. Organ donation is a gracious act; it reaffirms our faith in humanity.
One Organ Donor can donate up to 25 different organs and tissues for transplantation. This can save up to 8-9 lives!
