One of the pieces in our April 28th concert will be Crucifixus by the Italian baroque composer Antonio Lotti. A choral staple, Lotti’s work contains incredible word painting and spine-chilling musical imagery, including masterful use of dissonance and suspensions. It’s difficult to think of a piece that portrays the pain of Christ’s crucifixion in such an effective and real way. Here is a picture of Lotti’s original manuscript.

Don’t miss out next concert at the Gresham Centre on Saturday 28th April! Both of our choirs will be performing a fantastic programme of choral classics, conducted by @mattbamf and @ben_des_94.
