🎄Join us this Advent season for our Heaven on Earth sermon series:
.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come. God wrapped in human flesh, the incarnation.
.
That's heaven on earth.
.
Advent is the season where we celebrate the reunion of earth and heaven. What was lost and broken is now being found and renewed by Jesus. .
We get to taste and see and experience the story. How God sent His one and only son, and in his life, death, and resurrection, salvation is won and death is defeated.
.
That's heaven on earth.
.
We will journey through the moment when heaven and earth were separated to the moment when they will - at last - be united again.
.

Mark your calendars for our Christmas events!
You're invited and we'd love to have you join us. 🎄
.
We also have Christmas invitation cards available at the Information Booth at Journey the Church that you can pass out to your friends, family, co-workers, and everyone else you see.
We’re so thankful this Thanksgiving for all of our amazing volunteers who make this church possible!
.
Thank you to our incredible volunteer teams:
setup and tear down, Wednesday night cooking/clean up, worship and tech, prayer, event planning, greeters, care, hospitality, safety, kids ministry, young adult ministry, middle school and high school ministry, mens and women’s ministries, recovery ministry, singles ministry.
.
It takes a village to get the church up and running for every Wednesday and Sunday (and all the activities in between). We literally couldn’t do it without you.
.
We’re so thankful that you exist and that you’ve taken time out of your life to help Journey the Church.
We love you!
Ventura County, LA County, and the state of California have taken a beating these past few weeks.
.
As a community of people going through trauma and loss, we are completely broken. Our friends, family, and neighbors have experienced unspeakable tragedy.
.
We’ve seen this community stand up and offer everything it has to help those who are hurting, even when those offering are hurting too. Fundraisers have been started and fundraising goals quickly met. Donations of clothes, supplies, money or food. Shelter and safety for those who desperately need it.
.
Our county has done its best to just LOVE those within it and has come out victorious.
.
In the midst of devastation, LOVE has won and darkness has lost.
.
Jesus loves you and so do we.
.
“We are hard pressed on every side but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
Our partners at Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District are mobilizing staff and volunteers to help support a sandbagging project at Camarillo Oak Grove County Park. With possible rains coming as early as next week, the District is trying to get ahead of them and reduce the impact from the fires.
.
👍Who:
Volunteers. Anyone aged 10 and above.
All volunteers will sign waivers upon check-in with District staff.
.
❓What:
Filling, moving, and placement of sandbags. If there are special projects to be done (picking up debris, passing out water bottles), that will be assigned.

Volunteers can come for an hour or all day- any and all help is welcome!

Our services this week will proceed as they normally do at our usual location: Camarillo Community Center - 1605 Burnley St.
.
🔸Tonight’s Wednesday service: Dinner at 6pm, message and worship at 7pm
.
🔸Sunday services: 9am and 11am
.
If this changes, we will let you know via social media and the Journey the Church app.
The biggest request from all areas affected by the fires have been gift cards or cash donations to help people get what they need, whether its food, clothes, etc.
.
Those that have lost their homes have nowhere to store large donations of clothes or items. Evacuation centers are short on space as well for material items.
.
If you would like to donate cash or gift cards, we will be collecting this Wednesday (11/14/18) and this Sunday (11/18/18) at the Camarillo Community Center.
.
We will be taking donations to Jeffrey Barnett's brother who lost his house in Paradise (and has four kids), as well as to four families through @conejochurch who have lost their homes from the local fires.
.
Here are some examples of gift cards that could be helpful:
- Visa pre-paid cards
- Gas stations
- Target, Walmart, Big Lots, etc
- Drug stores
- Grocery stores
- Fast food places
- Restaurants
