Another successful academic day with another great visitor from Saudi Arabia.
We’ve had the privilege of attending Dr. Fahd Al Yami’s (@FahdAlYami) interactive lectures about pediatric urology followed by a social outing. Our seniors are now more oriented regarding the topic and the juniors well-prepared for their pediatric urology rotation.
Special thanks to Dr. Naser Al Soudan and Dr. Abdullah Al Arbeed for organizing the day.
It seems almost impossible to graduate from our residency program with a normal BMI because the best gatherings are always over food.

What a perfect academic day to end the week!
We’ve had both the honor and pleasure to meet Dr. Ahmad Al Malki from Qatar during our ‘Male Infertility’ themed academic day.
His ways in teaching were certainly very engaging and interesting.
We would also like to thank Dr. Ali Al Rasheed and Dr. Ali Al Amiri for their valuable input.
What better combination to discuss a complicated topic?
Our first Journal Club for the year 📚
Article presented by Dr. Feras Ajrawi and supervised by the one and only Dr. Ahmad Harraz.
Dr. Harraz can make the most difficult and tedious topics seem interesting in his own creative ways, and we as residents are privileged to have him as a mentor.
Our PGY-5 residents attended the Second Penile Prosthesis Implantation Workshop for Residents in Qatar during the weekend given by Prof. Gerard Brock and Dr. Riyadh Al Zubaidi. Photo: Yaqoub Al Qattan and Saeed Yaeish with Dr. Abdullah Al Naimi, Program Director of Qatar Urology Residency.
Thought we were done winning prizes, didn’t you?
Well, not yet.
Dr. Saeed Yaeish was awarded as ‘Best Teacher Resident in Urology’ at The Kuwait Association of Surgeons (KAS) conference. During the past year, Dr. Yaeish has proven to be someone the residents can depend on, especially after being nominated as chief resident.
Saeed, you are a great asset to our board and congratulations on your achievements. Don’t forget: breathe first, win next. 🏆

A program with staff dedicated to their residents careers and futures; we are grateful for the path they set for us. It may not be easy but as Jean De La Fontaine said "There is no road of flowers leading to glory". Also, our residents just cant help but win.
First place in ‘clinical study’ category: Dr. Majd Al Kabbani
Fourth place in ‘clinical study’ category: Dr. Rawan Al Yousef

Our residents in urology presented 18 out of 100 poster submissions at The Kuwait Association of Surgeons (KAS) conference. Keep shining!

Congratulations to Dr. Awad Al Wadaani (PGY-5) on tying the knot.
It’s always great (and emotional) seeing our residents walking down the aisle.

Not only is he a good teacher, but a great debater too! #YESorNO #RoboticSurgery #kuwaitassociationofsurgeons
We are always proud as residents when we see our mentors on stage giving talks and moderating sessions.
They make us aim higher and work harder.
