Piping hot Pongal, Vadai, Sambar, Chutney with Masala Chai was our breakfast. Last nites dreams were filled with pongal, vadai and first thing I did was to soak urad dal, to make sure that my dreams were fulfilled. @sareesht loves this combo than to idli vada. He over stuffed with vada and went with less pongal.

Cough and cold kept me away from cooking last three days, and meds these days are seriously over dose for these simple issues. Just skipped last nites dose which gave me back my energy.

Made a simple sambar without any vegetables or tamarind. It's more than a dal but little lesser to sambar but it goes really well with tiffin items. Fully loaded vadai which means onions, which is not used on auspicious days, made a satisfying breakfast and now off to😴😴

Made a small batch of sweets and savories for my niece and nephew on demand.

For breakfast made Hing Kachuri and Alur Tarkari, urad dal stuffed kachori with extra punch of hing and deep fried paired with a mild yet spicy potato dish with jeera, ginger and tomatoes.

Festival shopping at @big.bazaar was total fun today. Had pre booked my Morphy Richards Mixer here https://www.bigbazaar.com/dhanteras for Rs.101 and picked it up from the store which was grabbed at 50% off.

There were ample choices and fabulous offers on every product. @sareesht picked up gift baskets (chocolate, sweets and savory combos) for his colleagues and friends.
Fairly lights, scented candles to deck up our lil space during festival, desi ghee to make sweets to be gifted and few knickknacks were also grabbed.

Work from Home Paratha meal for @sareesht
Its surprising these days to watch S eating his meal sans rice, all he's been asking for is a full plate salad before his meal.

Homemade crumbly paneer was stuffed into the paratha with finely chopped green chillies and lots of fresh coriander.

Quick Mushroom pirattal / stir fry was made with curry leaves, green chillies, onions, freshly ground pepper, coriander spice mix.

Komola Bhog, kamala orange based rasgulla was made with homemade chenna from fresh orange juice, kneaded, rolled and boiled in simple sugar syrup. (recipe link in profile)

Gobi Tikka Masala, marinated gobi, shimla mirch, onion, tomatoes grill pan fried and then cooked in simple tomato based curry.

Our lunch was Ragi Roti, Paneer Makhani, Vegetable Brinji with Onion Raitha. Roti had finely chopped green chillies, jeera, fresh coriander.
For the Makhani gravy made a thick base with tomatoes, spices and cream and added pan fried paneer cubes.
Tamilnadu style rice called Brinji made with spices, coconut milk, veggies, mint and pressure cooked. Missing are the fried bread pieces in it.

Slowly getting back to normalcy after a splendid trip to Kolkata with my gals.

Made a pressure cooker sambar sadam with handpunded rice, fresh masala, veggies and tamarind paste.

Spicy cauliflower and green peas Kari / dry sabzi was made to compensate for the bit bland sambar rice.

With leftover dahlia, added tadka, curd and packed with instant mango pickle.

Also made vazhaithandu pachadi /plantain pith raitha with par boiled ones, whisked curd, green chillies, grated ginger and tadka.

These were packed for S's lunch while I settled for a big bowl full of raitha.

Pav Bhaji and Vada Pav for dinner tonite. Had to use off the pav buns made couple of days ago, while I preferred bhaji to go with em S wanted vadas. Both did happen, with good doze of butter slathered on pav buns and few extra on bhaji. Skipped potatoes for the bhaji, but kept them spicy and hot.
Crispy, deep fried potato vadas with good dose of garlic, garlic chutney, green chutney, fried green chillies all the requirements for the vada pav was met too.

Dinner tonite, homemade golden crusted, soft ladi pav with not so greasy gobi kheema matar (minced cauliflower slow cooked with onion tomato mixture and spices) It's been more than four months I baked bread at home, neither buying them which is a happy note.

The weather is so good, with very little rains but cravings for deep fried and hot food has hit high. Made a spicy gobi kheema with fresh green peas and served with homemade buttered pav buns.

Used my 3 year old Preethi Turbo Chop from @preethikitchenappliances to mince cauliflower florets, ginger garlic and chop onions to make gobi kheema. It's my helper in the kitchen and one of the best buy.
