The London Korean Film Festival Teaser Screening series opens in 2019 with WINTER'S NIGHT, a meditative drama reflecting on the lifecycle of romance as seen through the eyes of four stranded tourists.

Director Jang Woo-jin takes us on a journey through vivid landscapes and alcohol-fuelled encounters in which the two couples are thrust into a remote environment with no real escape from the strange circumstances of their relationships.

Early Korean Cinema: Lost Films from the Japanese Colonial Period began with a fantastic opening event Thursday, 7th Feb!

After giving the introductory lecture at our #EarlyKoreanCinema opening night, @koreanfilmarchive Senior Researcher Chung Chong-hwa returns to the @britishfilminstitute stage tomorrow evening (15 Feb) to present a pair of glorious melodramas, FISHERMAN'S FIRE and SWEET DREAM.

Special guest narrator, actors, and musicians made a visit to @britishfilminstitute Southbank yesterday to prepare for this evening's #EarlyKoreanCinema opening event, CROSSROADS OF YOUTH.

We welcome composer Park Chun-hwi, narrator Cho Hee-bong, and actors Hwang Min-su and Park Hee-von, plus director Kim Tae Yong, for a unique performance,  recreating an experience comparable to what Korean audiences saw and  heard when it first premiered in 1934.
