>>just broken down and cried right there in the middle of the fitting room because you hated the way you looked?

If you said yes to any of these, you’re not alone. This was me, too.

For as long as I can remember, even back to middle school, I hated the fitting room. I hated the big mirrors that saw everything, the lighting that highlighted every flaw and the inevitable tears. Ugh, the tears. I remember crying, sobbing in fact, in those awful fitting rooms because I didn’t like how I looked.

After years of hating my body for what it wasn’t I finally learned to love my body for what it could do. I can’t say that I love going into fitting rooms now but I don’t dread it either. I still see the flaws in those big mirrors and fluorescent lights but I constantly remind myself that I am imperfectly perfect and those flaws make me who I am.

HOW TO EAT PIZZA 🍕 & GET FIT 👙

Step 1. Buy pizza
Step 2. Cook pizza
Step 3. Eat pizza
Step 4. Stop eating when full. Not stuffed.
Step 5. Go on with life as normal.

Sounds super easy, right? It can be. Often times if we just listen to our bodies hunger signals & stop eating when we’re satisfied (rather than eating til we wanna burst) we won’t sabotage our progress.

Think about your hunger on a scale of 1-5. 1 is super hangry, 2 is a little hungry, 3 is neither hungry or full, 4 is satisfied & 5 is stuffed.

Start eating at a 2. Because if you wait til 1 you’ll eat anything in sight & probably too much. Stop eating at a 4 before you get too full. If you struggle getting too full and not realizing it, get rid of distractions while eating (phone, tv) & slow down. Check the clock, it should take you at least 20-25 min to eat a meal. •

There are no short cuts. There’s no such thing as a quick fix. I want you to get that out of your head right now. Stop looking for the next new thing to lose fat fast. You’re just going to waste your money and feel worse when it doesn’t work.

I know the feeling though. Trust me when I say I am not patient when it comes to my own results. I’ve been tempted by the pills, teas, drinks, diets, detoxes, you name it.

So, how did I do it? >>I learned more about the process that it takes to transform your body so that I knew what was happening when my progress was slow or stagnant. >>I had a plan for workouts & nutrition that I felt confident in, that didn’t feel impossible, so that I could be successful on a daily basis. >>I focused on other things day to day rather than how I looked or what the scale said so that I wasn’t discouraged when things didn’t seem to change day to day or even week to week. >>I stopped hating my body for what it looked like and started loving it for what it was capable of doing! (This took LOTS of personal development, positive reinforcement & affirmations). >>I trusted the process & didn’t give up. No matter how many times I fell off the wagon, I got back on.

Celebrated SIX years of marriage to my best friend & one of my best girl’s birthday’s all in the same night 💕💕

Got lucky with an amazing view from the 30th floor of the Marriott City Center, had an incredible meal at Fogo de Chao, then spent the night bar hopping in DT Minneapolis, dancing our pants off like we were back in college. Finished the night with Pizza Luce at 3am and still made it to lunch the next day with family 😂😂 _______________________________________________

I woke up mad that these are all the pictures I got but my wonderful hubby reminded me that I made some awesome memories & spent my night in the moment rather than behind my phone. So for that, i am so grateful. It will go down as a night I’ll never forget where new friendships were made & old ones strengthened ❤️❤️

I’d over analyze every food choice I made & as soon as I’d eat something “bad” I’d stress that it was going to make me fat.

Eating in a caloric SURPLUS makes you fat. No matter how healthy (or unhealthy) the food is.
