EAT CARBS & LOSE WEIGHT?!

Hell to the yes. 
_______________________________________________

I used to think I had to cut out carbs and sugar and all things delicious to lose weight. I tried juice cleanses, detox diets, low fat, low carb, no sugar..... you name it!
_______________________________________________

I used to feel ashamed that I couldn't stick to my diet. I didn't understand WHY I was losing weight but it wasn't staying off.

I felt defeated that no matter what diet I tried, I couldn't seem to reach my goals. 
_______________________________________________

I wanted to give up.
_______________________________________________

But just before I was ready to throw in the towel and accept my "fate" I was introduced to a nutritional concept that changed my life.

This wasn't a diet. It was a lifestyle. I could eat anything I wanted. Nothing was restricted or off limits. All I had to do was stick to a few goals. I could manage that.

I started eating like a normal person again and not only did I start losing fat and seeing progress, but I was HAPPY.

There's so much SHIT out there about the newest fad diet to lose weight fast. I hate to break it to you, but if it comes off fast it's going to go back on just as fast, if not faster.

PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION

That was me!! For years I couldn’t figure out the balance. I was trying to be so perfect all the time that I was exhausted by the weekend, would just way over do it and then be left feeling like I took 10 steps backwards.

Once I realized it wasn’t about being perfect and it’s more about staying consistent is when the change started happening. I wasn’t as stressed about my next meal, getting the perfect workout in or avoiding any treats.

So what’s the solution to ending the yo-yo for good? Finding something you can do consistently for a long time rather than perfectly for a short time.

Breakfast is one of those meals I could eat All. Day. Long. 🍳🥞🥓☕️

It also happens to be one of the most important meals of the day. DID YOU KNOW... if you skip breakfast on a regular basis you’re more likely to weigh more than if you didn’t skip it? 
_________________________________________________

Hows this possible? If you skip a meal it can make you extra hungry later on, which can lead to over eating and ultimately exceeding your total calorie intake needed for the day. Even an extra 2-300 calories a day can equal 0.5lb gain per week. Doesn’t seem like much in the short term, but over the next year that’s 25lbs!! _________________________________________________

I set my alarm for 4:30am this morning to get up and get my sweat on. I woke up feeling really rested and wondered "has my alarm really not gone off yet?" I checked my phone at it was 5:30!! I immediately was pissed because, ya know, I was an hour late waking up. I went back to check my alarm because I'm definitely notorious for forgetting to actually set it and it was still set for 4:30am (yes, I double checked it wasn't PM lol) but NEVER FREAKIN WENT OFF.

I was so irritated that it didn't go off and contemplated just going back to sleep and skipping today's workout. 
_________________________________________________

But then a small voice in my head said it's not THAT late, you could still do a short workout and you know you'll feel good just getting up and moving your body. 
_________________________________________________

And that voice was right! I got up anyways, did a shorter workout and felt GREAT afterwards. 
_________________________________________________

The point of the story is that we don't always have control over what happens to us, we only have control over how we react or respond.

THIS TIME IT’S GOING TO BE DIFFERENT….. I HOPE.

I've been there, girl. Feeling this burst of motivation to start working on getting fit, again. Getting yourself jazzed up thinking "this time it's going to be different". ••
You start off strong the first week and feel super confident. You even stay the course over the first weekend. The next few weeks come and go but after a while you start to get sick of eating the same foods and you're starting to crave everything under the sun. You have seen some results but not as much as you'd hoped for so you start to wonder if this is worth it? ••
You let your guard down a little because you've worked hard and you deserve to indulge a little. But one indulgence turns into 3 or 4 and before you know it you've lost control and your confidence has completely plummeted. Your motivation is gone as quickly as it arrived and you're left feeling hopeless, thinking "maybe I'm just not meant to be fit and I should just accept this is how I'm going to always be".

But you know what? You ARE meant to be fit. You CAN reach the goals you want. And you don’t have to go to crazy extremes to get there. You just might need a little guidance. Or at least that’s what I needed. I needed someone to encourage me when things got tough. I needed someone in my corner to reassure me that what I was doing was right and it would work. I needed someone to tell me it was OK to have my favorite foods and not feel guilty, but also help show me how to not completely fall off the wagon.

I got myself the support I needed. I hired my first coach. ••
It was scary AF. I had to invest in myself.

But now?
>>I no longer diet.
>>My weight no longer yo-yo's. >>I don't fall off the wagon anymore.
>>I don't have guilt around food.
