By tracking and improving your PR's your strength can go far.

I use Instagram stories to track my PR's.

Because what gets measured gets managed.

And it is super motivating to set a new personal record and lift more than you ever have before!

If losing weight is your goal I have found setting a goal weight to strive for is very helpful.

Last spring I made losing weight my goal and started by setting goal weight of 220.
.
Once I achieved 220lbs it I made 210lbs my new goal.
.
And before long I achieved that goal weight too.
.

The good news is the science behind getting stronger is pretty simple.

Lift heavy. Lift often.

Eat plenty of protein. 1 gram of protein per 1lb of body weight is ideal.

Get plenty of sleep. Aim for 8+ hours of sleep at night after training so your muscles can grow.
