Not only are cucumbers naturally cooling but the vitamins in cucumbers also work on dark eye circles and help skin retain moisture. You’ll also get a dose of retinol and silica, which help regenerate skin cells.

Ingredients needed:

1 cucumber
1/4 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup aloe vera juice
Instructions:

To juice the cucumber, coarsely grate it and place in a strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl. Push the cucumber to release the juice. I got almost a cup of juice from just one cucumber!

Pour into a lidded container and add the coconut milk and aloe vera. Shake to combine. Keep refrigerated.

You can apply to the skin with a spray bottle or by wetting a wash rag and applying to irritated areas.

But that .1% of germs that’s left can then breed and pass its antibiotic resistance onto offspring, quickly morphing into what’s called a “superbug.” This is why triclosan has been banned in hand soaps and body washes. Even hand sanitizer made with alcohol instead of triclosan can be harsh on sensitive skin, aggravating eczema and seasonal dryness.

How to Make Hand Sanitizer with Essential Oils

Ingredients

5 drops lemon essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops tea tree essential oil
1 tablespoon witch hazel
1/4 cup pure aloe vera gel
Add all the ingredients to a small bowl and stir to combine. Transfer hand sanitizer to small, clean pump bottle.
