The importance of the dynamic Warm-Up is often over-looked. Many athletes tend to focus on just the workout, while paying little attention to the warm-up and simply “going through the motions.” The dynamic warm-up should be thought of as a pre-requisite to participating in the workout, ensuring the body is prepared for the movements and primed for the intended stimulus.

The most effective dynamic warm-up raises the heart rate, turns on the central nervous system and activates necessary muscle groups. These three components are essential in improving movement patterns and coordination, increasing range of motion, and preventing injury.

Making use of a variety of jumps and movements that require a higher level of coordination will contribute to a more well-rounded athlete. If you are working on squats or one of the classic olympic lifts, try mixing in some bounding jumps or fast paced foot work to let your body know it needs to be explosive for the day's session. Pay attention to your warm up and make the most of it, so that you can make the most of your training.
We all need that extra little push on a Monday.

Endurance - what is our endurance class? NECF Endurance combines functional strength and mobility exercises with a high-intensity interval regimen in a series of short, intense workouts designed to build all-over strength and boost the limits of your aerobic capacity.

Our aerobic capacity is tested on a daily basis in CrossFit. WODs can range from 3 minutes to 30 minutes in length. Each time restraint testing a different aspect of our cardiovascular endurance.

NECF Endurance with @justtrynastayfit helps to teach athletes how to properly pace for longer work sets or how to tap into your dark side of max effort movement.

You can test your aerobic capacity every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30am or Sundays at 9am & 10am.

Squad WOD- Saturday’s at NorthEast CrossFit have always been a day devoted to community. Squad WOD has been a staple of our Saturday programming since we started as CrossFit Scarsdale.

The class is a fun workout done with one or multiple partners. It’s a time to have some fun with WOD buddies, make new friends, or introduce yourself to the community. *
The vibe is always high and the scores don’t matter...unless @coachmannynecf and @justtrynastayfit are battling for weekly bragging rights 😂
