Kevin Eshkawkogan is Anishnabek and is a member of the M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island.
Kevin has been a key player in the development of Indigenous cultural tourism in Ontario since 2003. Kevin was an integral part of the development and growth of the Great Sprit Circle Trail on Manitoulin Island, one of the country’s most renowned Indigenous tourism organizations that provides culturally authentic Indigenous experiences to visitors along with marketing support to Indigenous operators. Trevor R. Walker is the President and CEO of Frontier Lithium. Walker joined Frontier Lithium in 2010, and since then he has played a key strategic role in focusing the company on its PAK Lithium deposit in Northwestern Ontario. Under his leadership he has increased the company’s overall readiness to develop its world-class lithium deposit, advanced global-minded marketing activities, and bridged partnerships to bring Canada’s newest lithium mine project on line. Christine Leduc holds a Master of Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Forestry. She has held policy positions in the office of the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources and the Ontario Forest Industries Association. Kaella-Marie is an Ojibwe/Odawa/Potawatomi Anishnaabekwe from Wiikwemkoong Anishnabek and Aroland First Nation. She graduated a Cambrian Scholar and transferred to Laurentian University Bharti School of Engineering to study chemical engineering with interests in industrial processing, mining and environmental management. Katie is a ‘boomerang’ back to Sault Ste. Marie, Katie has over 11 years’ experience working in policy, communications and community development. Community members welcomed Abed Al Halim arriving from Lebanon on August 21 at the Thunder Bay airport. Abed is being sponsored through the WUSC Student Refugee Program at Lakehead University and will be studying computer science. Lakehead students provide social and financial support for sponsored refugees. Northern Policy Insitutes International & Community Matchmaker program will offer resume and job skills support, employment connections and career planning advice. Abuk (Philip) Matiop Abuk is from South Sudan originally and lived in a refugee camp in Uganda. He arrived in Thunder Bay August 14th 2019! 
He wants to study psychology at Lakehead and will be funded by World University Service of Canada (WUSC) #WUSC for a year to do so.
Emily, our International and Community Matchmaker will then help him do his first resume and teach him about how to find jobs in Canada!
