Since power has not been restored, both NSA campuses will be closed today for all students, faculty and staff. Please check our website and NSA email accounts for information regarding scheduled after-school activities and athletic events. We hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!
NSA will open on Friday, October 12, 2018 with a two-hour delay for all students, faculty and staff due to a power outage on campus. Morning care will not be available. We are working with Dominion Energy to restore power as quickly as possible. Dining service at the Main Campus will not be available, and all students will need to pack a lunch. Should there be any other changes to the school schedule, we will notify you as soon as possible through the Honeywell Instant Alert System, our website, local television news stations, NSA email accounts and on social media.
As a reminder, tomorrow, October 11, is the last day to receive free shipping when ordering your student’s school photos. To order photos,
please visit Icon Photography’s website, www.iconschoolportraits.com, click on “order” and then the appropriate NSA school campus. Then, select “Fall Portraits” and enter the password located on the proof card. All orders submitted by the October 11 deadline will receive free ship-to-school service. Orders after that date will be accepted but will incur shipping charges. (Main Campus Pre-K students will have their pictures taken this coming Monday, October 15.) If you have any questions, please contact the office manager in your child’s division or call Icon Photography directly at (757) 392-1543.
We are carefully monitoring Hurricane Michael. Due to the inclement weather expected tomorrow afternoon, all after-school activities, clubs, practices and games have been canceled on Thursday, October 11. To allow our NSA family to travel home safely, Extended Care and Beyond the Bell will close early at 5:00 p.m., and the activity buses will not operate tomorrow. If your child will ride home with another family, please contact your child’s division office with that information. All students are encouraged to leave campus when dismissed. Should there be any other changes to the school schedule, we will notify you as soon as possible through the Honeywell Instant Alert System, our website, local television news stations, NSA email accounts and on social media.
