The NUS Japanese Music Club (JMC) strives to bring like-minded enthusiasts together to enjoy a variety of Japanese music, including pop, rock, anime and Vocaloid. We also aim to nurture and develop our own talents in the areas of singing and performance through various opportunities and events, such as the annual JCF and JCN!

JMC Vocal Troupe:
Debuting this JCN, JMC presents a ragtag group of passionate vocalists we've dubbed the JMC Vocal Troupe (fancier name pending), who will be performing a medley of popular songs from a variety of genres ranging from headbanging rock to peppy pop! Their voices are just as diverse as the songs we've selected for the medley, and you'll be sure to enjoy the changes in mood throughout the performance.

Composed of (mainly) the very talented freshmen of JMC, Bandpill is set to wow the stage with its stunning duo of vocalists and five dashing instrumentalists; a pair of guitarists, a bassist, keyboardist and drummer! They will be performing two songs which will be immediately familiar to any anime fan - you won't be able to resist singing along!

Active since 2014, Shiranui has been performing covers of everyone's favorite J-rock hits, from retro to modern. With Grace helming the band's vocals, we aspire to bring to life songs that are both enjoyable and electrifying. The band started in 2011 with founding members Himu on guitar and Simin on keys, with the addition of Adi as our bassist. This year we are glad to have Leng as the drummer and Mus as the lead guitarist.

Deeply influenced and inspired by bands like L'Arc~en~Ciel and various anisong labels, the band continued to recreate J-rock songs and ballads to the best of our growing ability. Working vis-á-vis Grace’s powerful rockstar vocals, the band now wields a repertoire of different tones to bring out the best in every member.
This year for the Japanese Cultural Festival, the NUS Japanese Music Club is happy to present the JMC Ensemble (fancier name pending)! Although they're technically an acoustic band. The group is composed of three members - a harmonica player, a percussionist on the cajon and keyboardist/vocalist fronting the trio! They will be performing two lighthearted acoustic arrangements of familiar songs from anime and Vocaloid. Watch out for this charming boyband sensation at the JCF stage!
