A blog post about last afternoon at @isadoraofficial is up on the blog! I hung out with great people, tried out some new products and walked away with a bunch of inspiration. Take a look at www.bexbeauty.se
När tre knippen Fairtrade-rosor kostar mindre än Icas veckobukett får man passa på att pynta hemmet lite 🌹
I just want to take a moment to really show appreciation for who, what and where I am in my life right now. I'm in love and loved, I have more than enough to eat every day and I get to sleep in a warm bed every night. On top of that, I get to work with something that I'm passionate about, lets me express my creativity and I truly enjoy. I love doing my job and would do it seven days a week if I could. I'm so incredibly grateful I'm able to do what I do, and proud of how well I do it. I've moved mountains in just over a year and I can't wait to see where I'm at in a few years. Warm thanks to everyone who's ever helped me get a gig, everyone who hires me, everyone who calls me back, everyone who supports me in my career and personal life through small or huge actions. It all counts, and I'm so happy to be alive. Thank you. I'm humbled, yet confident. ⭐

⏩ Swipe to see this year's first Halloween look! I just couldn't help myself from starting early ... what else do you want to see from me in the upcoming month?
Photos I rarely take and never post:

1. Photos that incorporate my hands without acrylic nails; because of the length, shape and general look of my fingers.

2. Portraits taken straight on; because of how skewed my neck is (I've made an effort to sit straight for this picture), the asymmetry of my face and the size of my head and shoulders.

3 & 4. Pictures of me with a genuine smile; because it enhances my crosseye, wrinkles my eyes making them puffy and shows my round yet spiky teeth.

5 & 6. Portraits of my profile; because of the shape and size of my nose, my disappearing jawline, the slant of my chin, all my chicken pox scars and the disproportion between my upper and lower lip.

I'm posting this simply because it's something I haven't done before. Showing Instagram all my facial features that I find flawed and that have haunted me for years and years and years. But since a couple of months ago, something has changed.

It's not that I don't see the features that make me insecure anymore, but I no more think that they stand in the way of me being beautiful and attractive. When I look at the photos posted I see more beauty than flaws and the first thing that pops into my head isn't "I should get this and that fixed". There isn't an easy way to self love, especially when you've spent the major part of your life criticizing, pinching, beating, hating your body and appearence, but I can pinpoint a few things that have actually helped me:

1. getting rid of toxic influences. I've changed who I follow on social media, who I hang out with and how I respond when they talk about their or others' bodies.

2. focusing on what my body can do instead of how it looks. My legs can walk far. My arms can lift my nieces and nephews high in the sky. My lips can kiss the love of my life. My fingers create art.

3. challenging myself. Buying tight clothing even though you can see my belly bump, taking selfies from the opposite angle than what I'm used to, doing posts like this one, letting others take pictures of me (they look nothing like my selfies). cont. in the comments
