This week's #RHSConnect is PRIER Products, Inc.
@prierproducts is a plumbing manufacturer with the mission to develop, manufacture, market, sell and service top quality products for the residential and commercial building industries.
Prier is a big supporter of The Rock! Many Rockhurst students and alumni have worked at Prier during their summers breaks, as college interns, and after graduation. Several employees also have sons, brothers, dads, uncles, cousins and significant others who are current students or alumni!
Current RHS grads at Prier are (left to right): Chris Poskin '01, Scott Livingston '88, Joe Poskin '75 and Brady Poskin '03. AMDG

This #RHSConnect company is right down the road from us.
@glynndevins - located at 89th & Ward Parkway, is a senior living marketing and advertising solutions company founded in 1987. It is the largest senior living marketing agency in the country!
Among the 240 employees are three Rock High grads: (left to right) Robert Popper '85, Curran Steck '13 and Ben Burch '13. Co-founder Jim Glynn is a member of Rockhurst's great Class of 1970; Jim recently retired. AMDG
The Stanley Cup is at The Rock!
Thanks to Paul McGannon '72, Rockhurst's Athletic Trainer, and KCIce, a non-profit that builds ice rinks in Kansas City and is growing the Kansas City hockey community, for making this incredible experience possible for our students and faculty.
In addition to the Cup, we also welcomed Ken Morrow, who won 4 Stanley Cups with the New York Islanders, and was a member of the Lake Placid "Miracle on Ice” Olympic Gold Medal team in 1980! He brought his gold medal, which is displayed proudly by Mr. McGannon. AMDG
We honored these six Hawklet players, two managers and their parents at Friday’s Senior Night. Rockhurst defeated Jefferson City 69-29, and the seniors combined for 55 points.
Al Ba, Darrius Hughes, Glen McClintock, Tyler Nelson, Marcus Teahan, AJ White, and managers Tonyo Grandison and Will Hansen are a special group.
The Hawklets finished the regular season 20-3 and play in the District Semifinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lee’s Summit North. We are ready for a postseason run to Rock State! AMDG
Freshman Retreat 2019 - "On This Rock"
The annual Freshman Retreat is one of the most memorable events of each Rockhurst student's career. For the Class of 2022, it began last evening and will continue through tomorrow morning.
While we can't share too many details, it is a time of faith, fun and brotherhood. Today has already consisted of Freshman Feud, Alumni Talks and the placement of signed rocks in an "R" on campus. Many more bonding activities and surprises are ahead in the next 24 hours!
A huge thanks to the more than 60 alumni who shared their time and personal experiences with our freshmen. The alums spanned from the Class of 1959 to the Class of 2015! AMDG
This #RHSConnect goes out to Lansing Trade Group, LLC. Headquartered in Overland Park, Lansing is a commodity trading company, focusing on agriculture, founded in 1920.
Having recently finalized a merger with Andersons Grain, they are now known as Andersons Trade Group. This took the company from 500 employees to roughly 2,600.
Following this merger, it has become a top-5 agriculture trading company in the United States.
Five Rockhurst alums work under the LTG umbrella: Trigg Routh '11, Justin Koehler '08, Christian Krueger '09, Marcus Santoro '08 and Tom Sorrentino '08. AMDG
@creatorsgrp is this week's #RHSConnect. Classmates Jack Blake (left) and Jay Austin (right) of the great Class of 2011 founded the company in 2017.
They work to connect brands with new age video creators, in an effort to build the most insanely connected and collaborative ecosystem of video creators in the world, and connect them to the brands that need them.
Creators Group just hosted a meeting about 2019 content strategy with many top KC brands in the room, and they are looking forward to hosting their next symposium for video creators in New Zealand next year. AMDG
We were honored to welcome @mayorslyjames to the Rose Theatre this morning as a Community Connection speaker for Black History Month!
Mayor James spoke of his youth experience existing in different racial communities; then how he encountered the Marine Corps that was a life of equity, and how social problems today, as before, make life challenging. He offered a great quote of advice to our students: “When you start to look at people just by their color or by their labels rather than who they really are... you start to miss opportunities.”
He challenged our students to act as leaders to create equity with our gifts and serve other people, as "men for others". Another thanks to members of the Multi-Ethnic Enrichment Team (MEET Club) for organizing the event.
**Mayor James also wanted it known that the MEET Club members in the photo are an average height of 6'5". AMDG
We are very appreciative of three alums who joined us for a speaker lunch today as part of the Black History Month event series hosted by the Multi-Ethnic Enrichment Team (MEET Club).
Jerry Buckman '81, Emmet Pierson '84 and Ivan Nugent '99 spoke to a group of seniors about their experiences at Rockhurst and how their time here helped form them into the successful businessmen and Kansas City community leaders they are today. They also told some great stories about what they referred to as "the glory days"! Thank you - Hawklets forever! AMDG
Congratulations to a school-record 10 senior football players who signed to their future schools today (pictured left to right)! This core group helped lead the Hawklets to a record of 11-3 and 2nd place finish at State. We also anticipate a few more signees in the coming weeks.
