@s_von_hagen We are from Munich, Germany and visited Sri Lanka with the Company "Sri Lanka Brothers". In our opinion truly the best way to do so. Our driver, Shanaka, was very polite, always on time and save in driving. Last one is a important skill, regarding the crazy traffic situation in this country 😀. All individual trip wishes were fulfilled. The car was always clean and in top technical condition. Shanaka prepared every morning a bottle of water in between the back seats. Even the little things count 😊. At least we have to say "a big thank you" to "Shan" and the "Sri Lanka Brothers". You guys rock and we will recommend you to our friends in Germany. See U. Stephie & Tobi

It's was great opportunity to go walk on the tea plantation @x_katef_x The Lipton’s Seat lookout is one of Sri Lanka's most impressive viewpoints (unless it's misty and cloudy of course, which is why early morning is the best time to visit). The Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to survey his burgeoning empire from here, and today it's said you can see across emerald hills and tea estates to no fewer than seven different provinces.

To hike to the lookout, take the signed narrow paved road from the Dambatenne Tea Factory and climb about 8km through lush tea plantations. It's also possible to drive up – tuk-tuks charge around Rs 2500 return from dambatenne. Look forward to the company of Tamil tea pickers going off to work as you walk uphill. Enterprising locals sell drinks and snacks at the top.

This is the picture of picture @sami.r.b walking on the bridge @karleeblair did picture and @slbrotherstour take picture of them 😂Lolol The Nine Arches Bridge (Sinhalese: අහස් නමයේ ආරුක්කු පාලම, also called the Bridge in the Sky)[3]is a bridge in Sri Lanka. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.[4]The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder, P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers. [5][6] The chief designer and project manager of the 'upcountry railway line of Ceylon' project was D. J. Wimalasurendra, a distinguished Ceylonese engineer and inventor. The designer of the viaduct was Harold Cuthbert Marwood of Railway Construction Department of Ceylon Government Railway. The 1923 report titled "Construction of a Concrete Railway Viaduct in Ceylon" published by the Engineering Association of Ceylon has details of all the records including the plans and drawings. [7]

It is located in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. The surrounding area has seen a steady increase of tourism due to the bridge's architectural ingenuity and the profuse greenery in the nearby hillsides.[4]

Popular rumours suggest that when construction work commenced on the bridge, the Great War began between the empires of Europe and the steel assigned for this site was reallocated to Britain's War related projects at the battlefront. As a result, the work came to a standstill, leading the locals build the bridge with stone bricks and cement, but without steel.[6][5]

With their proximity to Polonnaruwa and Habarana, the Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks offer an excellent chance of seeing elephants and other animals without the crowds of Yala National Park. On some days, you won’t need to enter the parks to view elephants as they freely roam the countryside. You might even see elephants at dusk from beside the main Habarana–Giritale Rd. Be sure to keep a safe distance.

Before visiting, first speak to locals (guesthouse staff, tour companies or guides) as they'll know which of these two parks has the greatest concentration of elephants at any one time. Kaudulla is the less visited of the two parks.

Yala (යාල) National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (Block 1), and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattuwas one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Having king coconut with @sami.r.b
And @karleeblair
@slbrotherstour King coconut (Cocos nucifera) is a variety of coconut, native to Sri Lanka[1] where it is known as Thembili(Sinhala: තැඹිලි). Sweeter than regular coconuts, there are several sub varieties of the king coconut-the most common being the "red dwarf" (kaha thambili, commonly referred to as gon thambili). The other variety is "ran thambili",[2][unreliable source?] a smaller variety containing about forty nuts in a bunch. The king coconut tree is shorter than coconut trees, and are found commonly growing wild in many areas of the country.[3]

King coconut water has been used in Ayurveda. One of the most common uses is a mixture of Aralupowder (Myrobalans) added to the water of one king coconut.[4][unreliable source?] This Aralu brew according to Sri Lankan ayurvedic practitioners (also known as veda mahattayas) has the necessary properties to "expel heat from the body" therefore resulting in a feeling of freshness.[citation needed]

Sri Lanka now exports packaged king coconut water.

There are many cultivated coconut varieties found in Sri Lanka. Most of them are underway through national coconut research institute. According to a research carried away, they identified these varieties during a recent coconut germplasm exploration mission in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.

Coconut in Sri Lanka is currently classified into 15 different coconut forms grouped under three varieties, namely 'Typica', 'Nana' and 'Aurantiaca'. The visual morphological features of several new coconut morphotypes were characterized with the objective of including them in the taxonomic classification of coconut in Sri Lanka.[5]It is also found in some parts of Kerala, here it is known as (Chomana Thenga) or red coconut.

It is believed that the history of Pidurangala Vihara goes back beyond to the first and second century BC.[3] From those days Pidurangala was used as a Buddhist monastery and but became a prominent place during the reign of King Kashyapa (473 - 495 AC). According to ancient chronicles, Prince Kashyapa had killed his father King Dhatusena and fled to Sigiriya to find out a more secure place to prevent retaliation attacks from his half-brother, Mugalan. With the arrival of King Kashyapa, the Bhikkus who were medidated there were requested move to the nearby Pidurangala.[4] In a sort of compensation, King Kashyapa refurbished the temple and made it a prominent place.[3]
