As much as we advocate for an end of Human Trafficking, it's equally important to support our survivors and provide them a safe alternative. This dress does just that! .
Sewn by an overcomer of Human Trafficking in Nepal (one of the countries with the highest rates of Human Trafficking in the world). We partner with our friends @elegantees to bring you the best in ethical fashion so you can be a part of the story of restoration too.
What ARE the signs of human trafficking? There are so many! Here are just 10 "red flags" to look for:

The individual(s) in question
1. Is not free to leave or come and go at will
2. Is not allowed breaks or suffers under unusual restrictions at work
3. High security measures exist in the work and/or living locations (e.g. opaque windows, boarded up windows, bars on windows, barbed wire, security cameras, etc.)
4. Is living and working on site
5. Exhibits unusually fearful or anxious behavior after bringing up law enforcement or immigration officials

6. Shows signs of physical and/or sexual abuse, physical restraint, confinement, or torture
7. Is frequently monitored
8. Is not in control of their own money, financial records, bank account, or identification

9. Lack of knowledge of whereabouts and/or do not know what city he/she is in

10. Shares scripted, confusing, or inconsistent stories
If you see these signs call the Human Trafficking Hotline 1 (888) 373-7888 OR Text 233733 "Help" or "Info"
This blouse was made by an overcoming of Human Trafficking. Let's support our survivors. Available to purchase via link in our bio.
There are more than 40 million people in modern day slavery TODAY. For perspective, that's about twice the population of the state of New York. If you've ever been to NYC and witness the crowds in Times Square, you'd have to multiply that by 133 and THAT'S roughly how many people are enslaved in this global issue. .
How can regular people like you and me make a difference? One way is to know the signs of human trafficking and if you see it, dial the National Human Trafficking Hotline. 1 (888) 373-7888 You can also TEXT 233733 the word HELP or INFO. Another way is to make purchases like this that give back and doesn't ever enslave.
"Slavery goes beyond just a bad working condition. People trapped in slavery face physical, verbal and sexual abuse daily, and cannot leave to find other work or protect their families." Quote by the International Justice Mission @ijm
The driving factors behind Human Trafficking are poverty and greed. We believe we need to give more than we take and to always provide fair jobs that pay well. These ladies in Cambodia are experiencing JOY and FREEDOM because of YOUR purchases! ( #๐Ÿ“ท @3seams )
What does Human Trafficking look like? Here is one example: A family might take out a loan from a business owner to pay their bills or medical care. Then the business owner continually increases the amount of the loan, forcing the family to work long hours in their business to pay off the debt. The family never knows how much is due nor how to get out of the bad deal, so they are essentially in never ending indentured servitude. Unfortunately this is not uncommon. So it's a BIG deal when we can offer men and women a REAL job that pays them fairly, does not force them to stay, and provides them the education and skills to avoid such terrible situations. Example story summarized from @ijm

This picture shows some of the women having an afternoon break and talking about spiritual hope and restoration at @3seams in Cambodia. Notice the cleverly placed heart emoji? We must protect the identity of some of our artisans so that they can remain safe from their preying traffickers. .
You can support these women by purchasing The Cover that they make available now in our online shop. Link to purchase is in our bio.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas this year friends! Our prayer for you is that you'll recognize the special talents that God has given you and the people around you. We believe that if we as humans saw everyone for the masterworks they truly are, we would be a lot kinder people. Here is your Christmas reminder that Jesus didn't come to judge the world, but to save it (John 3:17). We hope that you feel the same way about us. We never want you to feel like you have to be perfect here, but we do want to help you do just a little more good. We hope that one day our boutique won't be a novelty, but the norm across all retailers! We desire to see that every one and every worker is treated with dignity and respect and seen as beautiful works of God. Merry Christmas, friends. Thank you for following us along and giving us your time.
