Block printing originated almost 350 years back, a traditional craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. Traditional block printing is done with wooden blocks and natural dyes. It can take days even weeks to complete a single piece of fabric. Originated from Sanganer, a village just outside of Jaipur, block printing is a practice of dipping hand made wooden stamps into ink and posting it on to a fabric as many times as required. Join us for an afternoon of hands-on block printing workshop and a behind the scenes look at the processes of this age old tradition that we have designed specially for you!

The festival of Diwali is synonymous to the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. In-fact it is the only time of the year the goddess is worshiped. According to legend, the Goddess is believed to have been created from the churning of the ocean, therefore a special 'pooja' is performed to worship her on this day. 'Lakshmi Pooja' is a Hindu religious festival that falls on 'amavasya' and performed on the day of Diwali. Adherents show reverence to the Goddess Lakshmi by placing oil lamps outside their homes to welcome the Goddess. Devotees believe, the happier Lakshmi is with the visit, the more she blesses the family with health and wealth.
