In Frankfurt's "Deutschherrenviertel" there is one building that characterizes the architectural concept of the office district like no other: the "Main Triangel". As its name promises, the triangular-shaped complex at the river Main consists of the two building parts "Hochhaus" and "Forum", connected by an atrium roof made of glass and steel that covers the inner courtyard. For all business people who need to reach one of the 13 office levels of the "Hochhaus" part, the architects have created a unique elevator experience made by thyssenkrupp: Right at the inner courtyard, the passengers can enjoy a panoramic view on the near river banks and the city's skyline.

In Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, a small, agile team of thyssenkrupp experts shares the vision of  industrializing 3D printing. The big advantage? The ability to create more complex, stronger and yet lighter structures than ever before. One example is this valve block: If we created the piece using traditional steel casting, it would have had a weight of 13 kilograms. Thanks to 3D printing, it just weights about 1 kilogram now. Which is just incredible.

There’s hardly any existing material that can withstand this waterjet – although it’s only 0.25 millimeters thin. By hitting the surface at a pressure of 6,000 bars, the water cuts even through the thickest metals like a hot knife through butter. And slices through 25 centimeters of aluminum as though it was mere foam. This way, it can cut forms out of aluminum, copper and stainless steel much more precise and efficient than contour saws – all while producing less waste. And unlike with laser cutting, the material will not be compromised by heat. Our automotive, aerospace and medical technology customers are quite happy about that. At our Technikum in Duisburg, Germany, we have started to do exactly this today! We call it Carbon2Chem – because the chemical elements of steel mill gases like carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen can be used to produce synthetic gases such as methanol. The required power for the proprietary hydrogen electrolysis process comes from renewable sources such as geothermal energy, hydropower or wind energy. It's 232 meters high and features some of the finest elevator technologies available: our elevator test tower in Rottweil, Germany is a supporting pillar for future skyscrapers. But not only that! Last sunday, it served as the vertical stage for the first thyssenkrupp Tower Run. During western Europe's highest flight of stairs, about 700 sports enthusiasts had to overcome no less than 1,390 steps. The fastest participant made the run in under seven minutes. Congratulations!

#TBT – At the 2018 Nürburgring 24h race in May 2018, the teams with support of our @BILSTEIN_inside colleagues finished five times in the top 10 and achieved many class wins. In the first five hours of the race the overall lead changed eight times. During the night, @teamblackfalcon's Mercedes-AMG GT3 with BILSTEIN power had taken the overall lead. In total, four BILSTEIN cars were in the top 5 at this time. Unfortunately, just before two o’clock the race was restarted – the reassuring lead of over four minutes was gone. In the following heartbeat final, the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 912 pushed past and didn't give up the lead until the finish. Nevertheless: an almost perfect performance for BILSTEIN.
