We are so blessed to have such great business partner like Sellstate Next Generation Realty in our community! Their team donated over 30 backpacks and supplies for the Marion County Homeless Children Program, which will empower these students with the tools they need to be successful this school year. 🎒📚🖍 THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE UNITED! 🤝

What is Safe Place?
Safe Place is a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people under the age of 18 (up to 21 years of age in some communities) in need of immediate help and safety. As a collaborative community prevention initiative, Safe Place designates businesses and organizations as Safe Place locations, making help readily available to youth in communities across the country. Safe Place locations include: libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses, and social service facilities - like UNITED WAY OF MARION COUNTY.

Our last Site Visit was at the Arnette House. We were able to tour their campus with board members and staff as we learned about the services they provide to youth in our area.
The Non-Residential Family Counseling program provides counseling to students who are experiencing behavioral problems in school which interferes with their academic success. This program serves over 500 students last year!! #mentalhealth #education #students #UnitedWeWin #LIVEUNITED
Today’s Site Visit was at The Salvation Army where we toured the updated facilities and learned more about the two funded Shelter and Feeding Program.
Their shelter has 40 men beds, 20 women beds, and 12 family rooms. Individuals and families have a average of 14 days, with case management services provided immediately.
Their dining room is currently serving about 150 breakfast & 300 dinner meals PER DAY! 😱🍽 They are having a grand opening on August where they will showcase their updated facilities - going from 64 to 97 seats to serve more people more efficiently.
