HAPPENING AT 3P.M.: the closing reception of the Yale Graphic Design thesis exhibition An Image Going to Work. 
Before the reception, we’ll host a series of short, one-image talks by Hicham Faraj, Orit Gat, Pianpian He, Marta Kuzma, Nate Pyper, Youngeun Sohn, A.L. Steiner, Dana Tomlin, and myself.

Picture an image going to work. Picture 16 more: 17 images all late for a meeting. They arrive, each with their own set of biases, politics, and meaning. Encoded into any image is an entire system of other images, a bustling work-place of reproduction, post-production, and circulation. Each image co-mingles, breeds, re-edits, re-formats, and re-contextualizes in the re-production of new realities…

In conjunction with the closing reception, guest and student speakers will each present a talk on a single image and how it works from 3–6pm. —
